Welcome to a new and awesome segment here at TVovermind! As often as we can we’ll be updating you with our “TV hero” or “Movie Hero” of the week. These characters are selected from current and past television shows that we’ve watched this week. Today we’re going to focus on a past character that all of you should remember. Today’s hero? Prison Break’s Brad Bellick. He’s a former Fox River prison guard, now Scofield crew muscle. He likes nightsticks, Mom, wife beaters, shotguns, and 180 degree personality flips. He dislikes Michael Scofield circa 2005, except now he worships him. Funny how four seasons play out.
Why he’s our hero: Poor Brad Bellick, he was once the villain of Prison Break way back in season one, but ever since he got locked up in Sona, became quite the little wimp indeed. He’s been serving as “support” for Michael Scofield’s Scylla-finding team doing relatively little besides driving cars and bonking people on the head every so often.
However, in one key episode, he met his fateful end, sacrificing himself so Lincoln and Michael could tunnel their way through a water pipe blocking their path to Scylla. It’s kind of like, all of a sudden he realized he had nothing to live for, and just kind of gave up. What exactly changed since three seasons prior? He’s always been the same shiftless, pudgy loser. But alas, we’ll give him our hero of the day award for his noble sacrifice, it’s probably the only honor he’ll ever get.
