There’s a reason that certain superheroes are more intriguing than others. We has humans don’t always love perfect. The sleek jet black hair and infallible Superman can get boring. It’s when Superman becomes flawed that he’s more interesting. Think about all the Superman movies you’ve ever seen. What are the best moments? It’s when he’s vulnerable. It’s when the kryptonite comes out and when he faces adversity. Essentially it’s when his job becomes hard that we open our eyes more.
And that goes for all Superheroes. It’s why Deadpool did so well in the box office. Deadpool exposed the fact that it’s not always easy for our heroes and in fact made fun of it in a hilarious and vulgar way. In fact being a superhero can be really really hard at times. As Robert Jones points out in this movie supercut, “Saving the day isn’t always as easy as it seems in the movies as evidenced by this supercut of 43 movies whose heroes are having a tough day at the office.”
