The Top Five Marvel Movie Anti-Heroes of All-Time

Some folks have issues with antiheroes, in fact they even have a problem with the term ‘antihero’. But with Marvel this term is usually meant to describe someone that hasn’t gone all the way dark but has been to the edge and gone over a time or two just to even the odds a little. These are the heroes that generally do what they consider to be the right thing, but will gladly do the wrong thing in order to get there. They’re the good guys that let themselves do bad things to get the bad guys, utilizing anything and everything that the more upright superheroes wouldn’t bother with.

It’s like fighting fire with fire in a sense. But in this case the antiheroes usually have a much bigger, meaner fire to play with.

5. Wolverine

It used to be that he’d made make this list without a hitch, but as of right now he’s borderline since he’s been seen as a hero for a long time now. But back in the day he was absolutely brutal without any compunction. Once he joined the X-Men he calmed down a bit and tried to be civilized, but that berserker is still inside and can be flipped like a switch when it needs to come out. This is partially why Wolverine has gained the kind of fame that he’s had throughout the last few decades, he’s a good guy that will go nuts if you push him far enough.

4. Hulk

Hulk is another one that is kind of borderline since he’s been a hero but he’s also been the bane of the superheroes as well at times. He’s never really been a full-on villain if you look at things from every angle, but he’s done some questionable things in his time. Of course the only time he DID become the villain was in Old Man Logan, when he ordered Logan’s family slaughtered and then ate Logan near the end. Of course that didn’t exactly put Logan out of the fight.

3. Blade

Blade dips a little heavier into the darker areas as he’s a half-blood vampire and he’s not above killing to get what he needs. Well, he kills vampires at least, and really only kills humans when there’s no other choice. In the movie as he’s been depicted he’s heroic to a point since he protects the humans but doesn’t care about them that much. In the comics he’s not much different, but he is a little more aggressive.

2. Deadpool

The infamous Merc with a Mouth is the kind of guy that’s so unpredictable that you don’t really know what he’s going to do until he does it, and even then you have to question his motives and even his methods. But throughout it all he has shown that he has a good side to him no matter that he does some pretty messed up stuff. He has his own code of honor that prevents him from doing certain things but when it comes to bad guys he’s not bound by much save the desire to do some maximum damage.

1. The Punisher

This guy just doesn’t care, or at least that’s what everyone seems to think. Frank Castle is the kind of guy that would rather kill the bad guy than see him locked away. If he gets the information he needs, or has no use for the guy that he’s after save to get him off the streets, then the discussion goes south pretty quick. He doesn’t kill innocents but he’s still butted heads with many a superhero over the fact that he doesn’t bother with the legal system when it comes to dispensing justice.

Antiheroes are popular largely because a good part of the population tend to agree with their more aggressive methods towards criminals.
