The Top Five Jack Nicholson Yelling Scenes in Movies

You want the Yelling Game?! YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE YELLING GAME! Sorry, had to channel a little Jack Nicholson there to get in the mood for this, but now we’re here and let’s get started because another legend has just entered the game. If this was anything like Celebrity Deathmatch we’d have one of the all-time legends in Mr. Nicholson since he’s so smooth and suave that you think he’s just going to let you pass and then WHAM, he lets you have it. His style of yelling is almost just another way of snapping at you with his regular voice since it raises several octaves but doesn’t change much. But man oh man if it doesn’t just reach out and bite whoever it’s aimed at. The trick is to be able to bite back just as hard if not harder.

With Jack Nicholson however that might be easier said than done.

5. Anger Management

Crazy or not an angry man throwing eggs in my kitchen would be a crazy man landing on his butt on the front walk. But mild-mannered Dave is simply too kind and bewildered by this sudden whirlwind of a temper tantrum that he lets fly with the first witticism that comes to mind. And of course since he’s now in an Anger Management program that just doesn’t fly.

4. Batman

He’s the Joker, he’s supposed to fly off the hook from time to time. But chances are that if the Joker is full-on yelling then the joke is no longer that funny and it’s about to get very serious. Even his closest foot soldiers aren’t safe when he really gets mad, and as for the Batman, well, it goes without saying that the Joker wants to get him face to face, but there’s no telling if he’d really kill him.

3. The Shining

Some fathers are abusive unfortunately, but a lot of them might look like kittens next to Jack in this film. It’s a bit different than the book in many regards, but that’s pretty natural. What’s really brutal however is the manner in which he dies. He can hear the snowmobile firing up and driving away, but he can’t possibly make it out of the maze before he collapses from the cold.

2. A Few Good Men

How many of us have repeated this line over and over throughout the years? Go on, be honest, you’ve said it at least once in your life just to be funny. But I guarantee that no one can say it with as much force and precision as Jack can give it. He meant those words and he delivered on cue in a way that showed you he can get good and mad when he needs to.

1. One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest

Checking into a mental institution doesn’t seem like the sensible thing to do. But for some reason Jack waltzes right in and next thing you know one of the inmates is trying to run the asylum. When he breaks them out however, things definitely take a different turn.

Jack Nicholson is one of the masters of yelling.
