If you’ve never watched the Bold and the Beautiful, it a half hour soap opera on CBS about a major fashion house in Beverly Hills and the family that owns and operates it, namely several generations of Forresters. It’s also about a smaller fashion house owned by Sally Spectra and a huge publishing company, owned by Dollar Bill Spencer and his family, sons Wyatt and Liam. So, here are five of the best 2017 moments of the show:
1. Is it Real or is it Memorex? Dollar Bill is Exposed

Liam calls everybody to Bill’s office to expose Bill’s lies about Caroline dying although she’s perfectly healthy, as well as his criminal activities like ordering Spectra Fashions building to be torched so he can get the property and build his tacky skyscraper that he affectionately calls “Skye”. The guests include Thomas and Caroline, Wyatt, Sally Spectra, and Steffy Spencer, as well as Bill, his smarmy company attorney, Justin, and the cops. Even the hot-dog-eating Lt. Baker is there for the big moment.
Liam tells them all about his father’s misdeeds and they’re all shocked, except Steffy, who obviously knows all about them because she’s married to Liam. But, Brooke wasn’t invited to the party, probably because the writers want to keep her in the dark right up until the point in the near future when she finds out and realizes that Bill is a slime-bag and a criminal and she goes back to Ridge.
So, just about everybody is shocked, Bill is doing a lot of backpedaling and lying. Lt. Baker is about to arrest him for arson when, oh no, it’s another one of those soap opera moments when we realize that none of it was real and it was just a figment of Liam’s imagination. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DQTqC4OTiI
2. Lights Out for Liam

As it turns out, mild-mannered do-gooder Liam has actually grown a pair and does confront his father for real only this time it’s one-on-one with no audience. He tells Bill that, either he steps down and makes him CEO so that he can do some good with the company or he’ll go to the cops. The next day, Bill resigns rather than go to jail and in response to Liam’s actions, he punches his son out. Guess he won’t be named father-of-the-year after all.
3. CatFight- Quinn vs. Sheila

Arch-enemies Quinn and Sheila finally go at it in the living room of the Forrester mansion. Lamps fly, tables break, and in the end, Sheila nearly kills Quinn by choking her with a fireplace poker. But, thinking she’s done her in, she walks away and heads for the front door. Quinn’s not done yet, however, and hurls a heavy knick-knack at Sheila’s head, hitting her pretty hard. And, when Eric walks in, he thinks Sheils is dead. She’s not though and ends up becoming an unwelcome house guest while she’s recovering.
4. Divorce or No Divorce

After Eric finds out that his son, Ridge, and his wife, Quinn, have been carrying on, he’s crushed. Although they never slept together, there were a few shared kisses which mean a betrayal in Eric’s book. He leaves for a short time and, when he goes back home, he has the Forrester Creations’ attorney, Carter, draw up divorce papers. He presents them to Quinn and tells her to sign them. The papers outline the terms and Quinn gets nothing; no money, no home, no Forrester name, and even no more job. Pretty bad terms for her but she signs anyway, telling Eric that, if that’s what he wants, she’s happy to agree. She heads for the front door and turns around to see Eric tearing up the papers. It’s one of those great soap moments when she realizes that he is taking her back and all is forgiven.
5. Spectra Burns

Since Bill wants so badly to build his new skyscraper on the Spectra Fashions property, he has it torched. The ensuing fire is spectacular and the special effects folks at the B&B do an excellent job of making it so dramatic. Sally tries to be a hero and runs into the fire to save the company’s new designs but is overcome and ends up in the hospital with smoke inhalation. Will this girl ever get a break?
