Recently, someone was curious enough to ask Tommy Wiseau about whether viewers would ever see The Room in 4K. As it turned out, Wiseau was more than willing to answer their question, which is why we now know that there will indeed be a 4K version of his infamous movie. In fact, he confirmed that there won’t be just a 4K version of The Room but also a 3D version of The Room as well, which is something that should be producing something of a mixed response in a lot of people out there.
For those who are unfamiliar with The Room, it is a 2003 indie movie that has a reputation for being one of the worst movies to be ever made. In fact, it is considered to be so bad that it has managed to become something of a cult classic because of people with an ironic appreciation for its content. As for that content, suffice to say that it is centered around a man who commits suicide upon learning that his fiancee has been cheating on him with his best friend, which is a very simple way to sum up a sprawling mess encompassing multiple subplots that were never resolved on the screen.
There are a number of reasons why someone might be interested in seeing a 3D version of The Room. For example, there are people who appreciate the movie in an ironic manner, meaning that a 3D version of The Room could make for an entertaining evening out. Likewise, there are people who have heard of its reputation but have never seen it for themselves, meaning that a 3D release could be an excellent chance for them to see what it is like.
With that said, there are also a lot of people who are interested in how The Room was made, which is a story with some interesting twists and turns of its own. For example, no one is sure how Wiseau managed to get the movie funded, seeing as how his incompetence as a film-maker resulted in him running up the costs by buying unnecessary equipment, making unnecessary sets, filming the same scene over and over on a succession of sets, and even dragging out the filming by forgetting his lines while on camera. As a result, most people believe that he had the money to pay for it on his own, but no one is wholly convinced that he managed to get the money by working the wide range of miscellaneous jobs that he has claimed, which is why some members of the cast and crew for the movie actually thought that the whole move was some kind of money-laundering scheme for organized crime.
This is but one example of the interesting realities behind the making of The Room. As a result, it is no wonder that a book about the making of the movie called The Disaster Artist was turned into a movie of the same name by James Franco. Due to this, it seems probable that there are also people who might be interested in seeing The Room for themselves because their interest has been raised by The Disaster Artist, which could well turn out to be a mistake if The Room is indeed as bad as it has been described by pretty much everyone.
