My personal guess is that it’s only a matter of time before Tinder gets replaced by something else as being the go-to app for dating. There are already a slew of competitors that streamline the vetting process which leads to a less “trashy” experience than Tinder But the dating app giant has something new up their sleeves: artificial intelligence.
The news was announced at the Startup Grind Global Conference in California, where Tinder CEO and founder Sean Rad made a speech on the future of the popular dating app, specifically the fact that it could very well involve AI in the next five years. Tinder’s users could potentially be able to ask Siri to assist them in finding dates and help to find potential matches in areas nearby to users. (via geek)
To be honest that sounds a little terrifying. If this will be available to us in only 5 years then what’s going to be available in 10 or 20 years? I think we all know that robots are the next thing. Humans are going to obsolete pretty soon so Tinder is trying to capitalize as quickly as it can before we need nothing for anything in our lives. Buttons will control every single thing we need or do.
“You can imagine how, with augmented reality, that experience could happen in the room, in real time,” Rad had explained. “The impact is profound as these devices get closer to your senses, to your eyes, to your experiences.”
Yes, that essentially means the closer we’re going to get to the robot apocalypse.
