Thomas Brodie-Sangster, however, has managed to dodge the child star curse and he has made the transition from a young star to an adult actor with ease. One of the thing that’s most surprising about Thomas is the fact that he has never undergone formal acting training of any kind. His natural talent combined with his unstoppable work ethic has been all he’s needed to find success in the entertainment industry.
2. He Hasn’t Met Anyone Who Liked The Last Season Of Game Of Thrones
Game of Thrones was one of the most popular shows in recent history, but many viewers felt like the final season was a huge let down. In Thomas’ experience, that opinion rings true. During an interview Thomas said, “…no-one seems to like the last episode or the last season. I haven’t met anyone that likes it so far.”
3. He Was The Voice Of Ferb
If you were a fan of the Disney Channel from the late 2000s to the mid 2010s, you were also probably a fan of the animated series, Phineas and Ferb. Even some of the show’s most dedicated fans don’t realize that Thomas was actually the voice of Ferb during the show’s entire run.
4. He’s Been In Two Music Videos
TV shows and movies are what Thomas is best-known for, but he’s also gotten the chance to be a video in a couple of music videos. In 2014, he starred in the music video for the song “30 Minute Break” by The Luka State. In 2016, he made an appearance in the video for “Tired of Lying” by Kioko.
5. He’s Not Very Active On Social Media
Thomas is young and famous, and many would assume that he also spends a lot of time on social media. That doesn’t appear to be the case though. He does have an account on Instagram which currently has more than 344,000 followers, however, he only hass a total of three posts.
6. He Has Some Musical Talents
Both of Thomas’ parents are musicians, and their love for music was passed down to him. Thomas told Interview Magazine, “I play bass. I play a bit of guitar. I’ve never been to a lesson, so my theory of music is non-existent in any instrument, but we always had guitars around. My dad taught me to play drums for Love Actually, and I still play drums now. But I’m not a “drummer.” I’m not a “guitarist.” I’m trying to be a bassist.”
7. He’s Related To Hugh Grant
Thomas technically isn’t the only person in his family who has achieved great success in Hollywood. He is a distant cousin of actor, Hugh Grant; their great grandmothers were sisters. The two met for the first time while working together on the 2003 film, Love Actually.
8. He Was In A Star Wars Movie
Thomas has gotten lots of cool opportunities during his career, one of which was the chance to be in a Star Wars film. He made a appearance in the 2015 film, Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens. Although the role was very minor and his character didn’t have a name, it’s still something nice to have on his resume.
9. He’s Not A Fan Of Musicals
Hopefully none of Thomas’ fans are hoping to see him in a musical, because that day will probably never come. Despite his love for acting and his love for music, Thomas doesn’t like musicals. During his interview with Interview Magazine, Thomas said, “I’m not a fan of musicals at all.”
10. He Didn’t Know Much About Game Of Thrones Before He Was Cast
When Thomas joined the cast of Game of Thrones in 2013, the show had already been on the air for a couple of years and had gained popularity. Surprisingly though, Thomas wasn’t a fan of the show and didn’t really know much about it before auditioning for the role of Jojen Reed. After he got the part, he binge watched the first two seasons.
