General Hospital fans know there is a lot of baby drama around here. We already used some time to talk about all that is happening with the baby drama in Nina and Valentin’s life, and we became familiar with that in a nutshell. However, there is another baby drama situation going on, and it’s all because of Nelle and her horrible ways. She’s there making everyone miserable and changing lives for the worst any chance she gets, and no one is happy for her. She’s a horrible person, and things are getting out of hand as a result. So we thought we’d look into what Nelle has done, and what her baby drama is doing to everyone around here.
Nelle’s Plan
For a long time, we all wondered if there was even a slim chance that her baby actually belonged to Michael. We all thought it was some big scheme she came up with so she could get him back, and tricking him into thinking he was a father to be. We all thought it would come out at some point that this baby was not his baby, that it was someone else’s baby, and we all thought that there is a chance that we could see this all turn around into something very ugly. That did not happen.
Nelle was really having a baby with Michael, but things did not go as planned. You see, there was a horrible situation in which they are in a car accident. She had just confessed to Michael that she killed her ex, that she lied about his mother, and that all the things she’d done were all to make sure that she could have him and get back at Carly for not accepting her as someone she might have a relationship with in terms of being with her son.
And then the accident happened. She was able to get away, but her baby was born in the woods. The accident was with the van that was transporting Dr. Obrecht, and the doctor was able to help her give birth before she escaped. And then she ran into Brad, who was on the way to the hospital with the brand new baby he’d just brought home to Lucas. The baby died. And it just so happened that Nelle also had a little boy — and she gave it to him and lied that her baby was dead.
Brad’s Plight
Now Brad has this baby that he is lying about, and he cannot handle the stress of it. He’s in a bad place right now. He is so happy with Lucas, and he is happy that he was able to give Lucas the baby he’s always wanted, but things are not as they seem. This is not their baby. Their baby is dead. Their baby didn’t make it. Now Brad has to mourn the death of his baby and the life that baby did not get to have, but he also gets to help raise a baby that has a father out there who is crushed and unable to process the loss of his son.
In the moment, the switch seemed like such a good plan. However, now he’s come to realization that he has to deal with the fact that he will see Michael and the rest of the Corinthos family regularly, and that will be one of those things that they have to deal with. It’s not good news for anyone, but he didn’t really think that through. Now he is feeling all kinds of guilt. Guilt that there is a baby who no one is mourning as he really is. Guilt that there is a family mourning the loss of a child that isn’t even their child, and the guilt that he is watching hearts break and a family fall apart while he’s over there with their baby and the reason they are all falling apart. We aren’t sure he can handle this or keep up with what he is doing and has done. He will certainly lose Lucas, however, and that might be the deciding factor for him in this moment.
