The Five Best Blake Lively Movies of Her Career

The Five Best Blake Lively Movies of Her Career

Blake Lively has been around one aspect of show business for so long that it seemed only natural that she would end up becoming an actress or at least get involved in some way. Initially she didn’t really want to go into acting and had a desire to go to Stanford, but after being cast in her first role and then another it kind of snowballed into a career and since then it’s been seen that she’s done extremely well for herself. Some of her movies seem to have kind of, well, slid off to the side, but others that people might not have given a solid chance have been quite interesting and very entertaining in that she adds to them in a way that might seem stereotypical at times but also acts as a kind of surprise to the plot that creates something special that pulls it out of that zone.

Here are some of the best movies from her career.

5. The Shallows

It’s very easy to understand the desire to find a private beach that’s well off the beaten path and therefore isn’t crowded in order to just get away and be alone with your thoughts for a while. But there’s also a danger to it as well since you’re all alone, away from anyone that could possibly hear you scream, and in this movie she’s somehow come across a massive shark’s feeding grounds. You could say that this film demonizes THE shark that shows up, but then you could also say that she happened upon the sharks territory so to speak. In any case it took a while to really get moving, but it was a better movie than critics seemed willing to admit.

4. The Town

All Doug wants to do is get out, but his buddies are adamant that he needs to stay, as is their boss, who admits to Doug just how he controlled his father, who’s now in prison. Doug agrees to do one more heist and has plans to get out, but after a robbery early in the movie during which his gang abducts a bank manager he ends up falling in love with her and thereby complicates things to a dangerous extreme. Not only does the FBI surround their last robbery, but they manage to kill every member of the gang except Doug, who escapes and makes his way to Florida. Sometimes the people you grow up with drag you down the quickest.

3. Savages

Chon, Ben, and Ophelia are a very interesting trio that are in the marijuana business and are so good at it that they’ve become wealthy beyond their dreams and are thinking about getting out. When a cartel comes a-calling for their business and their expertise however they try to politely say no, but when Ophelia is kidnapped to force a partnership things get very impolite very quickly. Thanks to Chon being a former US Navy SEAL he has contacts and friends that can help bring the war to the cartel and without hesitation they begin to make the cartel understand just how much of a mistake they’ve made.

2. A Simple Favor

It’s hard to know who to trust when you really want to trust someone simply because you need a friend. Stephanie and Emily however couldn’t be more different, and this seems to draw them together at first, at least until Emily starts acting rather strangely and then just up and disappears. When her body is found floating in a lake an insurance claim made by her husband surfaces and puts a great deal of suspicion on him. When Emily is revealed to have a twin sister that reportedly killed her for reasons all her own things become just a little more erratic as she explains just why she turned everyone’s life upside down.

1. Accepted

Yeah, college is great. It’s supposed to be the best years of your life…if you get in. These days there are colleges all over the place it would seem, some that haven’t been in business for more than a decade and some that have been around for quite a bit longer. But getting in is the problem with many schools since their strict and rigid standards not only make getting in nearly impossible for some people, but their ridiculous prerequisites for admission and for continuing your education, in some cases, tend to make people absolutely nuts as they fall all over themselves trying to live up to academic standards that create a campus filled with highly neurotic and high-strung individuals that only seem to guarantee that therapy will be the one stable profession when they all graduate.

Blake Lively has appeared in some great movies and she’s shown a fantastic range in her acting skills. She’s got what it takes to be a leading lady, obviously.
