The Best Uses of Sia Songs in Movies or TV

Sia is really hard to pin down as a person and she seems to like it that way since she isn’t the type that will answer a lot of questions with a definitive ‘yes’ or ‘no’ response. That’s kind of refreshing in a way unless you’re the one doling out the questions and expecting an answer, but all in all it makes her a rather interesting character since her songs are highly charged and powerful but her own personality is something of an oddity that blends into an enigma and is sometimes wrapped in a shroud that you can see through but in a distorted sort of way. Does that sound like the Sia a lot of us have come to know? She’s a very interesting person without a doubt and is extremely talented and there is more to her than just the mystique she’s created, but it does seem as though she likes to keep people guessing a lot. In way that’s very intriguing all on its own.

Here are some of her songs as they’ve been used in TV and movies.

5. Lip Sync Battle Shorties – Cheap Thrills

There are those who might say that something like this would sexualize young girls but if that’s the only way a person can look at something like this then TV just isn’t them. In truth Lip Sync Shorties is fun and inspiring since it shows that kids can get into the act just as much and can be every bit as impressive as their adult counterparts when it comes to acting out a song. Cheap Thrills is the kind of song that a lot of people want to groove to and would gladly look as goofy as possible doing it since the rhythm just kind of catches you and doesn’t let go if you fall into it for the duration of the track.

4. A Wrinkle in Time – Magic

Despite the poor reviews this film got the whole essence of the story is filled with something that is highly contagious. The book managed to capture the attention of a great many people and as a result the movie was set to be something insanely epic that a lot of folks were depending upon. One of the only issues with that however is the fact that very few things on the big screen will ever match the expectations that people build up in their minds when reading a book since filmmakers have to go on what they think is relevant and what should be in the film, not what the fans think should happen.

3. Wonder Woman – To Be Human

This is one of the few movies that has a chance to really be a mainstay for the DCEU and a saving grace for the company since the MCU has been knocking them out of the running for years. Wonder Woman hit a very positive note when it came to a few distinct subjects that were raised before, during, and after its release, and is still a bright spot in the DC universe since everything else has gone so dark and been mired in controversy as well as disappointment. Whether it can be revived or not, the DCEU is still popular enough that it needs more movies like this to really keep itself going.

2. Finding Dory – Unforgettable

Finding Dory is to many people just another installment of the Nemo story, but from a different perspective. People absolutely fell in love with Dory during the first movie and obviously she was considered worth exploring to see how she became just who she was in the original feature. But for all that Dory was popular and able to turn a profit, but she’s been forgettable in recent years as well, no matter that she does endure along with the rest of the Nemo cast. There was a lot of magic to this story that people loved and that’s what has kept it around for this long. Dory’s just a fun character, that’s a fact no one can dispute.

1. The Shallows – Bird Set Free

Much like the movie The Grey, The Shallows is kind of seen to demonize an animal in its natural habitat since this shark is nothing but aggressive and is therefore seen as the antagonist. What a lot of people fail to remember is that sharks don’t just up and attack people on a regular basis unless there’s good reason. For one, the surfers were in the perceived feeding grounds of this shark, which is rarely a good idea unless you know how to handle yourself around sharks. The film did kind of vilify the shark, but it was also about the woman having the courage to go on with her life after what could have been a severely traumatizing experience that could have ruined her for the water afterwards.

Sia is kind of an odd person at times, but she’s extremely talented.
