The Best Uses of Sam Hunt Songs in Movies or TV

It’s kind of interesting to think that Sam Hunt didn’t really have any interest in being a musician early on in his life. He wanted to play football and that’s what he did for a while until he finally reached an end to that particular road. In college he didn’t have a great start since he was plagued by injuries part of the time and had dismal showings. But as time went on he started getting better and after a while got the nod from the Kansas City Chiefs to come and try out for their team. He did try, but his skills didn’t prove enough to impress the team and that was where his football career ended. But his music career, which he’d been working on after games and whenever he could, was already beginning to look like a viable option at that point and so without anything else to hold him back he went for it.

Here are a few of his songs from movies and TV.

5. Bright – This Land is Your Land

It’s an older song obviously but more than one artist has taken to recording it in their own voice to make a bit of a contribution towards it. The movie however is something that is not quite as popular since a lot of people had something to say about this Netflix production and not a lot of it was that great. It deals with what looks like a cross between a D&D campaign and the real world, but without the benefit of really melding the two together so much as slamming them into the same script. It did look like it had promise, but perhaps a reboot would be a good option somewhere down the line.

4. American Honey – Take Your Time

Sometimes there doesn’t seem to be a lot of point a movie other than to reiterate that life isn’t fair and that it will continually throw curve balls just when you think that you’ve got it all figured out. The only thing you can really do sometimes is endure and adapt as much as you’re able and when that doesn’t work, then simply survive. Star goes from one bad situation to a worse one when she leaves a home that has little to no hope to roam around with a bunch of magazine-selling individuals that seem to have little to no real loyalty to one another, but will surely turn on each other in a heartbeat.

3. Lip Sync Battle – Take Your Time

Tim Tebow had a heck of a time performing on the field some days but it doesn’t seem like he had any trouble performing on stage. He even brought his competitor onto the stage with him to have a little fun. This show is pretty great since it finds some of the hottest stars and celebs that are active today and puts them up to lip sync classic and newer songs that are actually easy to sing to and manage to get the crowd worked up. It’s kind of funny that lip syncing used to be considered such a bad thing. Well to be honest it still is if the person doing it is supposed to be singing their own material, but in this case it’s just amusing.

2. Sam Hunt – Downtown’s Dead

Some folks would probably say that it doesn’t take much to become famous these days but those folks would be discrediting the business by saying it since no matter how much it seems that guys like Sam Hunt come out of nowhere there’s still the reality that they had to earn their spot and had to be selected by the people as someone that was worthy of being listened to. The hype and the marketing and everything else that goes into the process of making someone famous doesn’t matter a single bit unless the people actually like them. After all, you can’t really force someone to like a singer, that has to be earned.

1. Sam Hunt Live – Body Like A Back Road

If you want the honest truth, those that seem to come out of nowhere are those that might have struck out initially with their first, second, or even fifth or sixth tries. It’s not the kind of business where you walk in and expect to become a star. If that was the case then there would be a large percentage of the the world’s population that were considered to be stars and the term “celebrity” would mean very little. So when you’re thinking about how easy it must be to become a star just keep in mind that it takes a number of years to be an overnight success, few if any people ever really come into the music industry and get discovered literally overnight.

It’s fair to say that he’s one among many that the people have chosen to like and idolize.
