If you don’t know who Teairra Mari is then you might not be fully up on the hip hop scene since she’s been involved with some of the biggest names in the business. But in the music industry that can either mean a lot or it can mean next to nothing depending on how the career of the individual has been to go. The ‘flossing’ that some individuals like to do tends to keep them from being seen at all times since they tend to cause a little too much drama for the paparazzi and their fans now and again, and they might need to cool down before they gain any more exposure. Teairra has also been embroiled lately in a feud with 50 Cent that’s been taking up a lot of time and a bit of the press since the two can’t seem to come to a full agreement on how to settle their differences, especially not without letting their grievances air out for everyone to see and hear.

Here are a few things about Teairra you might not have known.

10. She’s pretty big on social media.

There’s no doubt that she’s famous and has amassed a lot of followers, but it’d be interesting to see just how many know exactly what’s going on with her at any given moment since it would seem that she might attract more of a fan base from her hometown and the surrounding areas.

9. Teairra started her musical career at the age of 12.

Seeing as how she’s in her early 30s now it does seem that she’s been around for a while and it’s obvious then that she’s been able to play the game for long enough to make it work for her and discover just how she needs to play things in order to keep her reputation moving forward.

8. She took 50 Cent and her ex-boyfriend to court and lost.

Teairra gave what sounded like a heartfelt report and explained why she was taking both men to court but in the end the judge ordered her to pay 50 Cent’s legal fees, which counts as a loss for her despite the fact that she had quite a bit to say on this matter. In fact according to Daniel Goldblatt and Ryan Naumann from The Blast she’s been quite vocal about it.

7. Teairra is a bit full of herself, or has a lot of confidence, either way.

With people that reach this kind of social status it’s hard to say at all times since some of them act in a very humble and pleasing manner and are constantly reminded how lucky they are to be in such a position, while others forget their beginnings and tend to think that they’re one of the most important people in the world without realizing how quickly it could all fade away.

6. She’s not exactly taking the threat of arrest seriously.

Erin Laviola of Heavy has indicated, along with everyone else, that Teairra isn’t really taking the bench warrant that a judge issued all that seriously. The warrant was issued on April 22nd and it would seem that Teairra has until May 22nd to show up in court or she’s going to be in a spot of trouble.

5. She signed her first record deal with Jay-Z when she was 16.

There’s no denying that she has talent and can make it work when she sings and when it comes to her career, but back in those days she had something that a lot of people saw as a possibility of a career and a future that could only keep going up.

4. It would seem that sales didn’t go too well on her second album as her label dropped her.

That’s how the music industry works after all, if you’re not making sales and no one wants to hear your music then the label isn’t going to keep you around for sentimental reasons. It’s business, and that’s how business goes most times.

3. The feud between her and 50 Cent had to do with a certain photo.

Supposedly the photo that her ex and 50 Cent saved and put on blast was pornographic in nature, but when showed to a judge the case was dismissed since it was deemed to be otherwise. You can imagine that she wasn’t too happy, and thus the feud started.

2. She’s been in a couple versions of Love & Hip Hop.

In a way this feels like her trying to hold onto her career, but it does seem as though she’s doing better than some would think.

1. Her grandmother was a backup singer for Aretha Franklin.

That’s about as good a musical pedigree as a person is going to get without actually being related to a big-time musician and it did manage to pass down the line to Teairra since she was able to impress the right people according to Brandy Robidoux of Hollywood Life.

She’s still got a lot of fans, but at this point it seems that her credibility is a bit shaky.
