I’m happy to say that Stephen Colbert actually got to make fun of something other than Donald Trump in his opening monologue yesterday. The La La Land and Moonlight best picture flub was clearly the biggest story of the day. While The Late Show had fun making fun of the Oscars debacle it still didn’t take long for Colbert to rip on Donald Trump. After continuing to deride the media, Donald Trump told the media to stop citing anonymous sources and “say it to my face.” He also said that the Oscars was too politically focused which essentially means he thinks it was all about him and that’s why they screwed up the best picture envelope.
But let’s go back to the “say it to my face” challenge. Colbert was 100% up to the task of saying anything that came to his mind right to Donald’s face. It all began when the show revealed a clip of Donald Trump teasing how he’s going to repeal Obamacare. As Trump usually does, he gave no specific details but did say that the plan would be “really really good.”
As you can imagine Stephen Colbert had a field day with this as well as plenty of other Donald Trump 6-year-old boy quotes. Check out the segment below:
