We had a nice treat over the weekend because we got an extra dose of Stephen Colbert. As we reported yesterday, Colbert was spotted in New Jersey on stage performing “Once in a lifetime” by the Talking Heads. It was a spectacle to say the least. But last night Colbert was back and he was all business. That essentially means it was time to get back to calling out Trump on anything and everything he does.
Last night’s topic was Trump’s claim that three to five million people voted illegally. That number isn’t just something out of the blue mind you. Don’t forget that Trump lost the popular vote by around 3 million so just to be safe Trump is saying 3-5 million to cover himself. Colbert calls Trump out on this and decides to run his own numbers. Trump also made a bold claim that anything said about the White House being dysfunctional is “fake news.”
So we’re basically at a point where if anything Donald Trump hears isn’t to his liking that he’s claiming it as “fake news” or that it’s simply not true. Are we really in an age where enough people are going to believe this? Is it possible to brainwash an entire nation? So far it doesn’t seem that way and Colbert is certainly someone who’s not going to take it.
