Spice Girls Confirm Their Plans to Work Together Again

The Spice Girls confirm plans for getting together again! The Spice Girls, Posh, Baby, Scary, Sporty, and Ginger, are otherwise known respectively as Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, and Geri Horner, who hosted the reunion at her house which also including their publicist Jo Milloy and Simon Fuller, the group’s former manager. Formed in 1994, The Spice Girls are an English all-girl pop group who’s first hit single ”Wannabe” took them to the top of the charts and beyond. The debut single made it to number one in almost forty countries, establishing them as a force to reckoned with.

In fact, “Spice”, their debut album, sold over thirty-one million copies, making it the best-selling album ever by a female group. The Spice Girls made history and continued doing so by selling a total of over eighty-five millions records all over the world, not only making them one of the best-selling pop artists of all-time, but the best-selling all-female group in history. Furthermore, they are the biggest British pop group to hit the world since the Beatlemania took the world by storm.

The Spice Girls were certainly a pop phenomenon in the 1990s and they reunited briefly in 2012 for the London Olympics. However, they have confirmed plans to get back together for the first time since the Olympics. Whatever plans they have for doing so, however, remain unclear, although a TV talent show was mentioned and it was said that a live tour hadn’t been discussed.

The five ladies met up at Horner’s house for a Spice Girl reunion and most certainly spoke among themselves about the details of moving forward. They all seemed happy talking work again and each posted photos of their meet-up. Jo Milloy, their publicist, did release a statement confirming that The Spice Girls were planning on working together again. She said that they felt now is the right time for exploring new opportunities which would embrace what The Spice Girls felt was their original essence, empowering females everywhere as well as their future generations.

It seems the ladies had a good time catching up on each other’s lives and reminiscing about the times they spent together as The Spice Girls. They talked about how overwhelming it is that people around the world are still so enthralled by them and they just felt like now was a good time to reunite and work on plans for their future. They believe there are many exciting possibilities left for them as a group and just want to pursue that.

The group first made it big in 1996 with their number one hit, but ended up splitting up in 2000. The Spice Girls then got back together temporarily in 2008 for a short three month tour of Europe and the US which was supposed to be a final farewell tour. However, the girls got together again in 2012 for the closing ceremony of the London-hosted Olympics. This meet-up comes on the heels of the report that Posh Spice, Victoria Beckham, who is now a fashion designer, would not be singing if the group were to reunite.

However, what is in the future for The Spice Girls may be television work in China, a TV talent show, a compilation album, and endorsement deals. The accumulation of these projects should bring each of the five ladies who call themselves the Spice Girls another cool ten million dollars each.
