Skeet Ulrich is the actor who plays Jughead’s father F.P. on Riverdale. However, some people might be more familiar with him because of his other roles in other movies and TV shows, with an excellent example being Billy Loomis from the first Scream movie. Recently, when Ulrich was asked about who he would want to see playing the role of F.P.’s estranged wife on Riverdale, he said that he would be interested in seeing Neve Campbell in the role, who should be familiar to Scream fans as the actress who plays Sidney Prescott in the Scream movies.
Why Does Skeet Ulrich Hope to Be Reunited with Neve Campbell on Riverdale?
Ulrich’s interest in seeing Campbell in the role of F.P.’s estranged wife seems to be rather simple and straightforward. First, he stated that Campbell is a talented actress, so presumably casting her in the role would increase the chances of excellent results. Second, he stated that the reference to the first Scream movie would interest Scream fans who are watching Riverdale as well, seeing as how their two characters were boyfriend and girlfriend. This is particularly true because Riverdale is inspired to a fair extent by teen horror movies, meaning that there should be a fair amount of overlap between Scream fans and Riverdale fans. With that said, Ulrich made it clear that his interest in seeing Campbell in the role doesn’t necessarily mean that will happen, not least because she is occupied with a number of projects at the time being, with examples ranging from Skyscraper to Bremen Town Musicians.
Could This Happen?
There is little that is known about F.P.’s estranged wife on Riverdale at this point in time. Theoretically, it seems safe to assume that she will be based to some extent on Gladys Jones from the Archie Comics, who is best-known for her efforts to get Jughead to do things in spite of his characteristic laziness. However, considering the sheer extent of the differences between the Riverdale cast and their comic book counterparts, it seems unwise to speculate too much about what F.P.’s estranged wife will be look based on the comic books. For proof, look no further than the fact that F.P. is the leader of the Southside Serpents on Riverdale but nothing like that in the comic books. As a result, it is difficult to say whether Campbell would be well-suited for the role or not, though considering her expertise and experience as an actress, it is not unreasonable to expect that she will be able to deliver a credible performance no matter what the character might be like.
Instead, the bigger issue is whether either of the two parties would even be interested in seeing Campbell play the part of F.P. estranged wife on Riverdale. Unfortunately, that is something that interested individuals have no way of knowing at this point in time, meaning that there is no real point to speculating too much about it. Instead, they should continue paying attention so as to find out the latest details as soon as they become available.
