Bad parenting, drama, fierce competition — these are just a few of the reasons the Lifetime reality television show “Bring It!” should be a wake-up call for parents around the globe. The fact is, there isn’t any dance battle quite as fierce as a field battle, but when it is in the setting of a football stadium, it tends to bring out the worst in coaches, parents and even the girls themselves. If you have never watched “Bring It!” it may be something to consider tuning into — at least once — to see what you shouldn’t do as an adult in a teens life. Learn more about why this show should be a wake-up call for parents who may act like this.
The Most Mature Individuals are the Teens
Perhaps the biggest shock on the show is that the most mature people on “Bring It!” are the teens. While bad parenting is really nothing “surprising” on this show (which is sad to say the least), but the coaches really aren’t any better. The dancers, during most shows, at least conduct themselves with a bit of decorum, which is much more than can be said for the coaches, during most episodes.
It’s Downright Embarassing how the Adults Act
If you have a teenager, you know how easy it is to embarrass them just by speaking a bit too loudly in public. Think about how the girls must feel to see their parents and coaches acting up, yelling at one another, fighting and more. What is truly amazing to many fans of the show is that with the girls being surrounded by so many horrible examples of adults, the girls still act in a professional manner. Unfortunately, many people believe that if the girls are continually exposed to this outrageous behavior, it is only a matter of time before they begin following suit.
Parents and Coaches Need to Take Notice
In life, acting in a reasonable, polite and professional manner will get you much further than acting the way the parents and coaches on “Bring It!” do. If you have noticed other parents and coaches near your acting in this way, then it is time to put them on notice. The fact is, this type of behavior is something that is eventually going to rub off on the impressionable teens they coach or that they are parents of. This isn’t going to help to grow mature, respectful adults. Instead, it is going to be a generation of dramatic and rude individuals who don’t really understand the phrase “playing fair.”
There you have it, the reasons why it may be time to tune into “Bring It!” may be just to see what not to do and how not to act. Unfortunately, those on this show don’t show any signs that they are going to change their behavior any time soon, and this season may show even more dramatic fights among coaches and parents.
