Rygin King is an up and coming dancehall artist who has been releasing music for the last several years. He has yet to release a full length album, but he is best-known for his single “Tuff”. Unfortunately, though, Rygin’s career may be put on hold after a recent incident left him with a gunshot wound. According to reports, Rygin and his girlfriend were shot while on their way to a local event. Sadly, his girlfriend passed away but Rygin was rushed to the hospital to undergo surgery. Rygin King is the name he’s known by all over the world. However, that isn’t actually his name. In fact, it’s not even close. Rygins legal name is Matthew Smith. It’s not entirely clear where the name Rygin King comes from, but it’s a pretty good one as far as stage names go.
3. He Was Born And Raised In Jamaica
Jamaica is the home of dancehall music, and several artists from the country have become international superstars. Rygin King is hoping he can be among the next group. He was born and raised in Montego Bay, Jamaica. He still lives on the island and hasn’t discussed any plans to move.

Since the release of her debut single “Burning” in 2017, Koffee has become one of the hottest young artists in dance hall. In 2019, she became a Grammy Award winner when her EP, Rapture, took home the award for Best Reggae Album. Rygin is a big fan of Koffee’s work, and apparently the feeling is mutual. In 2019, Koffee performed part of Rygin’s song “Tuff” at Reggae Sumfest.

Trying to balance a successful music career and school isn’t easy. That’s why it’s very common for young stars to leave the traditional school system in favor of online classes or private tutoring. However, once Rygin’s career took off, it appears he left school completely.
