As the first half of the year comes to a close, television audiences will have several top returning TV shows to catch up with in June 2024. These shows include several top streaming platform shows with long-awaited follow-up seasons. Also, the month will host two of the industry’s biggest awards.
Like several other scripted shows of the year, many of these returning shows were affected by the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and the SAG-AFTRA strike of 2023. With a few production drawbacks and release dates pushed forward, the month is packed with exciting shows across multiple genres. Here are the top 10 returning TV shows in June 2024.
Mayor of Kingstown Season 3
The Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon-created crime thriller Mayor of Kingstown returns for season 3 in June. More than the seasons before it, Mayor of Kingstown season 3 has had the greatest anticipation, especially because of Jeremy Renner’s extraordinary recovery from his snow plow accident. The actor returns to lead the cast as Michael “Mike” McLusky, the self-appointed mayor of the fictional Kingstown. Mayor of Kingstown season 3 is scheduled to premiere on Paramount+ on June 2, 2024.

Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 2
After its revival on Paramount+, Criminal Minds: Evolution saw tremendous success in ratings. Season 2 returns with more action and drama. The season would have 10 episodes aired weekly from its premiere date. Criminal Minds: Evolution season 2 is scheduled for release on Paramount+ on June 6, 2024, in the United States and on Disney+ on June 7, 2024, in other regions.
51st Daytime Emmy Awards
June 2024 will also host the 51st Daytime Emmy Awards. This year’s award honors the best in American daytime television in 2023. Entertainment Tonight’s co-hosts, Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner, will host the 51st Daytime Emmy Awards for the third consecutive year. The award ceremony will be held in Los Angeles at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel. One major change this year is the retirement of the Outstanding Younger Performer in a Drama Series category. The 51st Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony will be held on June 7, 2024. With the CBS two-year deal ending this year, CBS still holds the rights to broadcast the ceremony in the United States. Power Book II: Ghost Season 4 Part One
Starz’s Power series sequel/spin-off series Power Book II: Ghost returns for its fourth and final season in 2024. Unlike other seasons, season 4 is divided into two parts. Power Book II: Ghost season 4 Part One is scheduled to premiere on Starz on June 7, 2024. Its second part, season 4 Part Two, will be released three months later on September 6, 2024. Power Book II: Ghost season 4 continues to focus on Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.) as he finally takes a stand!

Bridgerton Season 3 Part Two
The much-awaited Bridgerton season 3 Part Two will premiere in June 2024. Audiences watched Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton begin their romance at the end of season 3 Part One. The 4-episode concluding season will answer many of the unanswered questions in Part One. Like in Part One, all 4 episodes will be released on the same day. Bridgerton season 3 Part Two is scheduled for release on Netflix on June 13, 2024.
The Boys Season 4
Amazon Prime Video’s satirical superhero series The Boys is back for another exciting and captivating season. The Boys has enjoyed amazing reviews from critics and audiences for all of its previous seasons. The multi-nominated Emmy Awards show will have its main and surviving cast and characters return in season 4. The Boys season 4 is scheduled for release on Amazon Prime Video on June 13, 2024.

77th Tony Awards
The 77th Tony Awards will also be held in June 2024 and honor achievements in Broadway productions in the 2023/2024 season. This year’s ceremony host is Ariana DeBose, who hosted the last two ceremonies. The 77th Tony Awards will be held at the David H. Koch Theater in New York City on June 16, 2024. CBS holds the rights to air the ceremony, and it will be available for viewers to watch on the network and Paramount+ streaming platform. Hell’s Kitchen and Stereophonic are the most nominated productions at the 77th Tony Awards, with 13 nominations.
House of the Dragon Season 2
After an almost two-year wait, House of the Dragon season 2 premieres in June 2024. The HBO fantasy drama was created by George R. R. Martin and Ryan Condal as a prequel to the award-winning Game of Thrones TV series. Season 1 left audiences with House Black declaring war on House Green after the death of Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen’s son. House of the Dragon season 2 is scheduled for release on HBO on June 16, 2024. Unlike season 1, House of the Dragon season 2 will have only 8 episodes.

That ’90s Show
All is set for the release of the Netflix teen sitcom That ’90s Show. With all roads leading to Point Place, Wisconsin, That ’90s Show season 2 will be split into two parts. That ’90s Show season 2 Part One is scheduled for release on June 27, 2024. Audiences and fans would have to wait four extra months for the release of season 2 Part Two on October 24, 2024. Like the previous season, That ’90s Show season 2 is still centered on Eric Forman (Topher Grace) and Donna Pinciotti’s (Laura Prepon) teenage daughter, Leia Forman (Callie Haverda). She returns to Point Place to spend time with her grandparents, Red (Kurtwood Smith) and Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp).

The Bear Season 3
Jeremy Allen White returns as chef in the FX on Hulu’s comedy-drama series The Bear. The series has so far followed White’s Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto character. A young Carmy is forced to return to Chicago to manage his family’s Italian beef sandwich shop, The Beef, as his inheritance after his older brother committed suicide.
