Recent Days of Our Lives News You Should Know

Days of Our Lives fans have no words for the fact that there are some serious rumors going around right now. There are rumors that there is going to be a cancellation. The show will end and not come back. That all the actors will be without jobs. That everyone will be miserable, and we are addressing the rumors right now. News broke earlier in the week that every single actor and actress — every single last one without any exception — has been released from their contract with the show. This means that not one person was asked to return for a following season — which tells us there might not be a season to give them something to return to.

You see, shows have to be renewed each year. They have to be making enough money, they have to have the fan base, and the network has to decide it’s worth the money to bring the show back. For 55 years, the network has brought the show back to the televisions screens we love to watch, and  we’ve all been very happy. They’ve had news here and there when someone didn’t get a contract renewal, and that’s not a big deal. Well, it’s a big deal for the actor or the actress, and for the fans of that specific person, but it’s not really a big deal in the grand scheme of life in that the entire show is going out the window.

When the entire cast is let go without a contract renewal, it might mean something else is going on. The rumor, at the moment, is that the show is being cancelled and not coming back. That’s big news, and we don’t even know where to begin with it. For one, we know that this is devastating information for not just fans, but also for those who make their living starring on the show. They have bills to pay, families to provide for, and they want job security. Of course, the soap industry is rarely enough job security to make anyone feel super comfortable all the time, but it’s good enough that it works out. This is a major blow to all of these actors and actresses, and it’s got to be a horrible time for all of them. With this news out and this rumor spreading rapidly around, it appears that there is nothing else we can do but sit back, wonder, and hope for the very best.

The other rumor, however, is that they have an even bigger situation on hand. You see, by releasing everyone, they’ve essentially been fired from the show. If the show is picked up by the network for an additional season, the show’s executives can then offer the talent that they let go a brand new contract that cannot be negotiated at a higher rate. As all unworking actors and actresses, at this point, it makes sense them to resign with the show for less money since they are currently making no money. This prevents raises. This prevents contract negotiations. It prevents all the things that might make actors leave and finances get deeper. Those who want to work will take the new contracts and roll out for less money  because they were literally fired and need to work. It might just be nothing more than a shrewd and genius way for the company to save some money and work through things on their own accord.

Of course, if this is true, there is always a chance that some of the actors and actresses might not even come back at that point. But, that is their choice. There is a chance that they can get most people to come back for fear of not working, and anyone else can be replaced with new people or not written back into the show at all. It’s a move that might make sense, but we don’t know if the show is being cancelled or if they are just looking for a way to make this situation work from a budgetary manner. It could go either way. What’s your hope for the future of the show? Would you be devastated if it’s cancelled? We know you would.
