Bold and the Beautiful fans are watching the news carefully this week after a few pieces broke regarding the show. It might not be anything hard hitting like the people of General Hospital are feeling this week after one of their own alum was arrested for being intoxicated in public, but it’s still news to fans. It’s certainly not as big as the news that hit Days fans when it was reported that all actors and actresses were released from their contracts this week, which has fueled rumors the show is either being cancelled or that the production company is in a financial bind looking to save some money by introducing the cast with new contracts in the coming months. We don’t know, but we know that the Bold and the Beautiful fans don’t need to worry like the Days fans are worrying.
However, we do have news that a writer is out at the show, which means there could be some big changes in the script soon. Patrick Mulcahey is leaving, and we don’t know what this means for the show itself. He’s been part of the show since 2005, which means he’s an integral part of the show. It turns out that he is not being fired, that he is not retiring, and that this is not something he needs to do for anything other than his own reasons. He’s tired. He wants some time off, and he’s going to go back to work writing in another capacity when he’s had a bit of a respite. He’s not out of the game for good, but he’s out for now. He might come back to this show, but we think that his comments make us believe he’s out because he’s looking for some other opportunities. We don’t know if he has any others already on the table or if he really does just need some rest, but we hope the best for him.
The other news we want to discuss has everything to do with Adain Bradley, who plays Xander. We know he’s been a little MIA lately, but that’s because he had knowledge of the entire situation with the baby swap and all that went down. However, it’s been reported that while he’s not being fired in any capacity, he’s not going to be a regular cast member anymore. He’s going to be a recurring character. This means we will continue to see him, love him, and want more from him, but only on a situational basis. He did well when he was here all the time, but he’s not going to continue on that path for now.
The other news from the show is that one of the show’s very own is out for good, too. It’s Alley Mills, who is the lovely and wonderful Pam. We love her as an important role on the show, but it appears that she’s out for good now. The show has taken her contract and removed it from their files, and she’s out of a job. We don’t know why, of course. But we do know that this really might not be the big deal that it sounds like. You see, this is not something that might be true to an entirety kind of manner. She might not be fired or off contract forever. There is another rumor swirling around that she’s simply been removed from her full-time contract and given one that is a part-time situation, and she will only be around on a recurring basis. We feel that this is true for her many days, so we can see that they might make this change to her contract.
Of course, both are just rumors, and we don’t know at this point which one is true. We will find out in coming months, but we feel confident enough in her skills and her fan base that she’s not gone for good. We feel that she has not made her last appearance on the show. People love her. She’s important, and we cannot see them deciding that it’s time to get rid of her for good. We can see that she will be back, that she will make some big moves.
