It is certainly no secret that famous couples in Hollywood don’t have a tendency to stay together for very long. In fact, you might find yourself surprised if someone does manage to stay married for more than a year or two. Despite this fact, there are some couples that take almost everyone by surprise when they make the decision to separate. Such is the case with Josh Duhamel and Fergie.
The couple enjoyed eight years of marriage and had one son together, Axl, before they announced that they were splitting up on September 14th. Despite the day they announced their separation, the couple has made it clear that they were actually separated as early as February of this year. They have also commented that they wanted to give their family time to deal with these circumstances in private as opposed to making everything public right away.
The real question centers around what actually happened. There are a lot of different possibilities and neither Fergie nor Duhamel have come forward to say exactly what caused the problem. However, there were rumors of cheating several years ago. Although they were vehemently denied, the fact that the couple is splitting up now is enough to make many people wonder if those allegations were really true or not. There are also several other things that likely contributed to the separation, not the least of which involved excessively heavy work schedules for both individuals. These schedules often kept them apart and it is hard to work on a marriage when you can’t even be in the same room together for five minutes at a time.
Many people that are close to the couple say that it was merely a difference of priorities concerning how each one of them wanted to live their lives. Duhamel is more of a low-key type of individual who likes to do things on his own and enjoy his privacy. Fergie, on the other hand, early enjoys being in the spotlight and is far more focused on her career. These separate lifestyles eventually became a big enough problem to cause the couple to separate, according to many individuals who are close to them. Without a doubt, these are not small differences and could indeed be enough to make them finally decide to call it quits.
The truth is, the general public may never know all of the reasons that the couple decided to split. Deciding to separate is an intensely private decision and even when it happens to famous couples, there is usually a tendency to keep some of the more personal reasons quiet. Therefore, fans of the two may have to be comfortable with the idea that these two simply have different goals in mind for their lives and that alone was enough to cause them to make this decision. One thing is certain, they both still seem to care deeply for each other, not to mention their son, whom they have agreed to raise together despite their individual differences.
