The Real Housewives of Atlanta Episode Four: The Ridiculousness of Redickulous

The Real Housewives of AtlantaThe Real Housewives of Atlanta are four episodes deep into their fourth season and shade was still slung from all cylinders among the women. Last night other ‘objects’ entered the fray, one being lawsuit threats with the other sending NeNe running and Kandi’s mother Joyce into a tirade in tonight’s episode.

Kandi and Mr. ReDickulous

It’s Kandi’s 35th birthday, so she spent most of the episode prepping for her milestone party by buying shoes, getting the venue locked in place, and being peacemaker with her guest list, which included Sheree, Phaedra, NeNe, Cynthia, and Peter all in one room. Seems like hard work doesn’t it? But Kandi pulls it off with gusto and didn’t let the other ladies drama deter her too much, even though there came a time where the tension was as thick as the badonkadonk Kandi carries around on a daily basis.

Then we met ReDickulous, the infamous male stripper Phaedra mentioned on last season’s of The Real Housewives of Atlanta who can perform self… wonders on himself. Let’s just leave it at that, folks. Phaedra decided since Kandi is pretty much a sex freak at heart that ReDickulous would be a gift to end all birthday gifts. However, some of Kandi’s party guests, most notably Mama Joyce, were not amused. NeNe, Cynthia, and Peter, as well as other guests, were a bit thrown off at ReDickulous’s antics, which involved slinging his… member around like a jump rope and dipping it into Kandi’s drink. Talk about having a drink on the rocks… I’m just saying. But the piece of resistance came when ReDickulous performed his signature trademark in the middle of everyone, sending NeNe and Cynthia to the nearest exit and Mama Joyce off her rocker. “I walked right out, took my eyes out of my head, put them in my purse, and drove my car blind,” NeNe stated matter-of-factly during her confessional. Now that’s deep…

Mama Joyce went on a cursing spree about how ReDickulous was just too ridiculous for a birthday party of that caliber and how it simple was “not cool,” which not only threw Kandi off, but viewers and Andy Cohen alike as well. You would think Mama Joyce would be used to Kandi’s sexual interests(?), especially since several Watch What Happens Live! appearances have proved that Mama Joyce has partied with them before. Thankfully, Mr. Cohen had his minions dig up the footage which proved that Mama Joyce’s tantrum was a bit much. Or a bit fake. Just saying…

As for Mr. ReDickulous, you can see his Watch What Happens Live! call-in interview with Andy Cohen on BravoTV.com today. That should be pretty interesting…

Now onto the other ladies:

Kim

Kim didn’t get too much screen time last night, but some of the little bit of time given to her dealt with Phaedra apologizing for the Apollo/Peter fight at last week’s baby shower. Despite Phaedra bringing a nice gift basket and apologies for the events of that night, Kim still managed to call Apollo an “ex-con” during her confessionals, which I seriously found to be in bad taste. At least Phaedra tried right? Now to give Kim credit, she accepted Phaedra’s apology and said that she ‘really liked’ Phaedra as a person. However, if that’s the case, calling Apollo an “ex-con” is not really showcasing a sense of friendship in my eyes.

On another note, Kim was still perturbed about Cynthia arriving late and not bringing a gift, which really shouldn’t matter if Kim doesn’t care for Cynthia one way or another as long as she (Cynthia) and NeNe are friends. If any of the other women didn’t bring a gift, I’m sure she wouldn’t have been as upset.

Kim was also schooled on circumcision for her and Troy’s baby, because she doesn’t want her son’s “pee-pee wearing a turtleneck.” Wow.

Phaedra

Phaedra pretty much only served as a supporting figure to Kandi and Sheree as they did their personal things this week. However, she still dropped some hilarious one-liners and gave the viewing public “Redickulous,” which I can’t help wonder if her mother, Pastor Regina, will have to say about Mr. ReDickulous and Phaedra’s representation of someone of his ilk.

Sheree

Château Sheree was still being built, but not at the pace Sheree wanted it to be. Andrew, Sheree’s contractor, claimed that the landing permit has to be completed before he and his crew can do anything else to the property. Luckily, Sheree had Phaedra on hand to put the fear of God in Andrew by slightly threatening a lawsuit if he doesn’t pick up speed and fast. Of course, Andrew’s grin disappeared immediately, but he rebounded long enough to tell Sheree that as long as she has the money, not only will her precious “château” be built, but that it will be built pretty swiftly.

Hmm… Seems like Sheree will be staying put for a while where she is at the moment, because where in the hell will she get the money to complete such an expensive venture? Maybe she should bury the hatchet with NeNe (and not in NeNe) in order to get Mr. Donald Trump’s phone number and not rely on the Atlanta theater circuit (or her ex-husband Bob Whitfield’s money) as her source of income. I’m just saying…

Cynthia

We knew that when Cynthia’s sister Mal and their mother decided to hide Peter and Cynthia’s marriage certificate on their wedding day all hell would break loose when the “happy” couple found out. What we didn’t know was that we would actually see the blow up on TV.

A lot of words were exchanged between Peter and Mal, but Peter kind of came out as the favorite in the debate, and I stress ‘kind of’ because of Peter’s claim of divorcing Cynthia if she had of done the same thing to Mal. That’s a bit extreme and sort of shows just how ruthless Pete can be over such frivolous things and that could be another problem in the long run.

Later Cynthia tried to explain to Mal how happy she is in her marriage, but Mal was not hearing it. Nothing was solved between the two, which was expected given the footage we’ve seen in the season trailer of the two arguing over respecting each other. However, Cynthia has more issues to worry about in the coming weeks given that Peter’s latest venture Bar 1 is already having money issues. $40,000 worth of money issues. And guess who is going to help cut that check? Yep.

NeNe

Ms. Leakes made up for lack of screen time last night as she shopped for Kandi’s party and let slip to Cynthia and Peter that she and ex-husband Gregg have went from a marriage to a friends with benefits type deal. In other words, NeNe is nowhere near over Gregg despite reports and pictures of a new boyfriend in tow. In term of conflicts, NeNe, Sheree, and Phaedra thankfully didn’t cross paths at Kandi’s party even though they were pretty much sitting at the same table with Kandi being the barrier between the two factions. But there is a silver lining coming our way next week…

Next Time On The Real Housewives of Atlanta… Marlo Hampton Arrives

The previews of next week brought the goods as Marlo Hampton will finally be introduced to the Real Housewives of Atlanta and the cattiness will be at an all time high. Who is Marlo Hampton and will she bring the same vein of external drama that Brandi Glanville has done to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills? We shall see next week!
