Tonight’s Real Housewives of Beverly Hills served us the Kyle and Camille drama as the main dish this week, but did anyone else get a bit overstuffed from the barrage of dramatics coming from the two women?
The Dinner Party Massacre
As stated last week, we will never know what really was uttered between Camille and Kyle during that now infamous conversation, but viewers will always have plenty to speculate on. While everyone else has already picked sides, it’s still hard for this reviewer to do so due to Kim’s apparent involvement, which was hinted at last week.
When Kyle looked for her sister to back her up in from Camille’s attack, Kim opted out and didn’t want any part of it. In most situations, Kim’s actions could be seen in two different lights, the first being a bit too telling of what really went down and the second being a bit obvious in that Kim is a bit of a coward. Let’s look at the former first.
Kim not stepping in could’ve been because Kyle might have did attack Camille’s character with a jab after all. If this is true, then Kim might knew her sister was lying and didn’t want to back her up for numerous reasons, numero uno being Kyle’s condescending tone towards her. Or Kim just simply did not want to get involved at all, which leads me to the flip side of the equation of Kim being somewhat of a coward.
To opt out of helping your sibling or any blood related relative in a battle is considered treason to some family circles. Ask the Manzo/Laurita clan from The Real Housewives of New Jersey and they’ll tell you that type of insolence could mean life or death in their crew. However, Kim thought it would be a great way to not start any drama with the women she’s still in the process of getting to know personally, even if that meant throwing her sister up under the bus. Well, in hindsight, it’s safe to say that Kim took a wrong turn to New Friendsville and ran across a couple of mortars in the process with Kyle, Taylor, and possibly Lisa. Then to add insult to injury, Kim served the “too little, too late” card by taking up for Kyle when the argument was growing mold around the crust. It’s like a doctor finally treating a gunshot wound way after infection has settled in. The damage was done and Kim kind of only made it worse. I still feel bad for her, though…
Camille’s World View
After leaving her “so-called friends” behind to scuffle among themselves, Camille went on a campaign to regain her confidence by surrounding herself with “friends” who went to the Ass Kissing School for the Shameless and graduated with top honors. D.D., one of AKS’s graduates who wasn’t at neither event involving Camille and Kyle, managed to have more insight on the matter than Taylor, Lisa, or Kim did. Yes, she was showing support for her dear friend, but said support only fuels Camille’s growing insecurity about being in Kelsey Grammer’s shadow. D.D. should know that true friends don’t let other friends drive drunk, which is what Camille is basically doing when it comes to her social life with the other Housewives. Next time, D.D, take Camille’s keys and drive her to a therapeutic “Come to Jesus” talk, please and thank you.
Also on the ‘Weird Meter’ tonight was how Kelsey greeted Camille in his dressing room, which everyone caught tonight. It’s safe to stake this as a check point for the beginning of the end for Kelsey and Camille. Seriously, he was practically shooing her out the room. Wow.
Plus, Camille talked Kelsey into letting go of Mauricio as their realtor, which was completely petty on Camille’s part, because Mauricio’s job didn’t have anything to do with Kyle and Camille’s relationship before, so why should it now? It doesn’t make any sense, and I hope she was just joking about it.
Other Tidbits
– Ken Todd is hands down my favorite Real Househusband from now on. How can you not like the guy? He’s like an ultra posh version of Ozzy Osbourne and is just in it for the ride. Can he get a spinoff with RHODC’s Jason Turner? Hilarity would ensue.
– Adrienne and Paul’s bickering is another great part of the show, because it’s not only funny, but it shows how real and leveled their marriage is. Now, I hope it’s just fun bickering though, because that’s one divorce we can’t have on the show.
– The Kim v. Taylor argument was so left field that I didn’t see where it landed. I’m still debating that one…
