“Plenty of Baggage” was the right title for this episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, because the ladies made sure to pack plenty of drama in those designer suitcases of theirs as they headed to Las Vegas to see Jay-Z in concert. That in itself is a laugh out loud moment.
Camille
Tonight was one of those examples where I think Bravo’s editing department gets a little ahead of themselves. Every segment with Camille tonight had her dropping Kelsey’s name so much that I started to count, but lost interest quick. While I am firmly on the fence about the effects of editing in reality TV, this is one of those cases where I think the editors are setting up Camille and Kelsey’s divorce way too early in the season. You can’t help but feel the the tug of the rug as it is about to be pulled from under Camille’s feet every she mentions her future ex. It’s pretty sad to watch in some ways.
Other than putting Kelsey’s name on loop, Camille enjoyed herself on the trip to Vegas without Kelsey, but made quiet the impression with not only the wives, but the husbands as well… If Adrienne’s stares of disapproval combined with Lisa and Kyle’s branding Camille’s as a bit too much are any indication of what’s to come, Camille might have made a few enemies instead of new gal pals. I think the appearance of Camille’s tennis friend was the kiss of death for the ladies’ friendship, or it could’ve been Camille’s Club MTV dancing. Or both.
Taylor
Is it me or is Russell Armstrong the most (socially and physically) awkward Househusband to ever grace our screens? I really feel sorry for Taylor, because she’s doing everything in her power to keep this man from wandering away, but, I don’t think he’s going too far unless his money does the talking for him. It’s like a marriage of fun and killjoy, a clashing that should never happen. Just me discussing this guy makes me feel… awkward.
Adrienne
I thought Lisa would be the mother hen to these ladies, but it’s becoming clear that Adrienne is the one who rounds them together for their outings and playing peacemaker. At first, I wished a Jay-Z concert wasn’t the point of destination, but seeing these women dancing and throwing signs at lyrics they didn’t understand made up for that disdain in abundance. At least they are comfortable in any surrounding they are in. Did I say how much I love these girls?
Bravo, Where Were You?!?!
At the end of the episode, we got conversations about something that happened off camera dealing with Kyle Richards and Camille. Allegedly, Camille says Kyle claimed that she’s useless without Kelsey. Kyle, on the other hand, says that’s not the case at all, but claims Camille came out of left field accusing Kyle of “interrogating her” when it came to Camille’s plans for the weekend. The point of the matter is we don’t know who to believe, because the incident wasn’t filmed. Good job, Bravo. While we know Camille can be a little overdramatic, we also know Kyle has a razor for a tongue and will use it willingly. It’s episode three and I’m still learning these women, so I’m not picking sides in this issue without evidence… yet.
Memorable Moments
– The ladies playing basketball in heels was hilarious, but suspenseful at the same time. What? I was sure one of them would fall and bust their ass, but luckily they didn’t. Even though it would’ve been funny as hell if one of them did… (I’m bad, I know…)
– Lisa bombing her husband and anything else that didn’t make sense to her had me dying over here. Poor Ken Todd always takes it in stride, but I wonder what goes through his head as she “jokingly” calls him out like she does. Plus, Lisa commenting on first meeting Russell Armstrong only solidified why I love this woman, because she was spot on with her summation!
– Russell dancing. There should be a crime for what he did last night to the dance floor and my eyes. I’m writing a new law on it as we speak…
