Recently, interested individuals had the chance to ask the cast members of The Punisher some questions at ACE Comic Con over in Phoenix, AZ. One of the questions that came up was whether Jon Bernthal, who plays Frank Castle, had to rehearse carrying people over his shoulders or not whenever he filmed such scenes. In response, Bernthal told an amusing story involving Ebon Moss-Bachrach, revealing that Moss-Bachrach had to essentially jump up onto his shoulders, which was particularly amusing because his character was supposed to have been shot in the scene.
Besides this, some other interesting information was revealed as well. For example, both Bernthal and Moss-Bachrach stated that they would like to see Deborah Ann Woll make a return in Season 2 as Karen Page, which has not been confirmed at this point in time. Furthermore, Bernthal commented on which of the Defenders he would like to see make an appearance in Season 2. For those who are curious, Daredevil made the top of the list because he was the one who brought Bernthal into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but following Daredevil, it was Jessica Jones, though he took care to mention that he would welcome the appearance of any of the other Defenders.
Finally, Bernthal also commented on the final fate of his character’s dog, which turned out to be a lot more mysterious than what most people would have liked. Simply put, the episode in which the dog last appeared was supposed to show the police letting the dog go because the dog was refusing to stay still, which would have meant the survival of the dog at least. Unfortunately, since that scene never happened, the survival of the dog cannot be confirmed at this point in time, meaning that it is possible that it died in the big fight in that episode.
What Do We Know About Season 2 of The Punisher?
The answers proved to be a welcome little bonus for people who are waiting for Season 2 of The Punisher. Said season was confirmed back in December of 2017, which was perhaps unsurprising considering both the critical and the commercial response to The Punisher. However, not too much information has been revealed about it since that time, which has made the wait more unbearable than it might have been under other circumstances.
Regardless, it will be interesting to see how Castle will be convinced to make a return to vigilantism in Season 2 of The Punisher. Some of the things that have been said suggests that Jigsaw won’t be making a big return in Season 2 but rather in Season 3, meaning that there is a wide range of possibilities for which villain will be having the most impact, which in turn, means a lot of narrative possibilities. Moreover, it will be interesting to see when Season 2 of The Punisher gets released. The marketing for the previous season was interesting in that the release date wasn’t revealed until relatively late, which some people thought might have been intended to enable a quick change of date in case something unfortunate happened in the real world. As a result, it is possible that something similar might happen in the sense that the release date for Season 2 won’t be revealed until relatively late, though this is in the end, something that only time will tell.
