The Trump administration has been compared to at least a million things so far. We’ve made our characterizations and comparisons of this staff since day one. Kellyanne Conway got the Fatal Attraction treatment on SNL. Sean Spicer got the Melissa McCarthy treatment on SNL. Steven Bannon has been mocked by Rosie O’Donnell. Donald Trump has been mocked by everyone imaginable but my personal favorite has got to be Sesame Street. But today’s comparison may very well be the best of the bunch. According to AV Club
Back when it first aired in 2003, Arrested Development’s Bluth family was pretty clearly intended as a satire of the Bush family, what with its privileged doofus of an older son and shady business ties to the Middle East. But the nice thing about making a show about entitled, rich white assholes is that there’ll always be new ones coming down the line to make fun of. So it’s not wholly surprising to read through this Twitter thread from Politico author Dan Diamond explaining the whole Trump White House in terms of the beloved Mitch Hurwitz sitcom:
Get ready to be amazed. Here’s all the proof you need that Season 5 is today’s White House.

2. Of course, I’m talking about ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT’s classic episode, “The One Where They Build a House.” pic.twitter.com/UdWOL7jtvM

3. To recap episode
· GOB vows to build house, fast
· GOB doesn’t have a plan
· They instead make a *fake* house
· It falls apart–literally— Dan Diamond (@ddiamond) March 24, 2017
4. Still – for a moment – it looked like they actually could pull it off. pic.twitter.com/j13oRbWwlE

5. Until it literally collapsed – and everyone saw that while it looked like a house on the outside, it was actually a cynical, empty shell. pic.twitter.com/X5dQrCFUF2

9. Not to spoil the show, but it turned out the Bluths had bigger problems than failed construction projects. pic.twitter.com/Wddwsc61Dv

10. To be clear – I’m just talking about ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT. The story of a wealthy family who … wasn’t actually that wealthy. pic.twitter.com/CJvm4SIUmu

14. But despite the dysfunction, everyone agreed: It all turned out well in the end. pic.twitter.com/f0YjZYstdZ
