Here are Some Potential Storage Wars Spin-off Show Ideas

Twenty years ago if someone has said that there would ever be a reality show based on folks bidding on abandoned storage units, no one would have believed it. The show “Storage Wars” has become quite a valuable property on the A&E lineup. This is partly because the voyeur in us loves to get a peek at other people’s stuff and mainly because of the cast of auctioneers and wheeler-dealers who often make a tidy profit off of buying and reselling these goods. Now that the show has hit its stride, a spin-off or two might come about as it often does for hit shows. Here are some possible “Storage Wars” spin-off ideas that might cash in on the show’s success.

At Home With Dan and Laura

We all love that crazy auctioneer couple. They seem like everyday folks, and Dan Dotson reminds us a bit of Dan Conner from the stellar hit “Roseanne”. These two are so likable that we forgive their obvious product placement deal with Subway. What are they like at home with the kids? Do Dan and Laura ever use their auctioneer talk during romantic moments? Do they have everyday drama in their lives like the rest of us? Do they really like Subway? Do they ever slow down? Or would their show be even more heavy handed with the covert advertising? It would be worth it to find out.

Grandma’s Attic

We just love Ivy Calvin, so why not have a show about his day to day hustle as he grows his business, Grandma’s Attic? He’s cool. He’s an MMA fighter and former football hero. He’s the guy who manages to keep his head when all around him are acting like fools. We would like to see more of him. He’s easy on the eyes and says what most of us think in our heads but don’t have the nerve to say out loud. Ivy, although serious, makes interesting connections in his line of work and must lead a fascinating life.

Sheets and Son

When Darrell and his son Brandon go bidding together, they add some needed comic relief in this high-pressure world of resale. Filming a show with more of their father-son antics would be quite entertaining. Like Fred Sanford, Darrell always thinks he knows better and often he’s wrong but he persists in his stubborn ways. Holiday dinners must be quite the spectacle.

Storage Wars Haunted Edition

People leave behind some pretty freaky stuff and it’s a good bet that some of the spiritual energy of some items might be of interest to say, a “Haunted Collector”? Barry consults psychics all the time, why not see about getting some of those treasures into their rightful place in the Warren Occult Museum? Better yet, Lorraine Warren is still around consulting on movie projects like “The Conjuring” so she might be a great person to bring along to check out some of these storage lock-ups. You can never be too careful when picking through people’s possessions, especially when many of the owners are probably deceased and that’s why they didn’t pay the unit rent.
