Meet Dan Lefebvre, a master woodcarver that would give Ron Swanson a run for his money. Lefebvre, his wife and his two sons all love Pixar movies, so Dan decided to pay tribute to the films by making a one of a kind guitar. Dan says that each character took about 3 hours to carve and the guitar took a total of 200 hours to put together. As you’ll see in the gallery below this project was well worth the time and my guess is that this guitar is priceless. Here’s what Dan has to say about his work on Facebook:
My name is Dan Lefebvre and I am a woodcarver. I use traditional wood carving tools such as chisels and mallets, gouges and crooked knives with little or no powertools from
beginning to completion. I use already fallen wood resulting from nature’s temper or trees that have been taken down due to safety concerns. I give a new lease on life to any type of wood that has been found on the side of the road and is more than likely headed for the fireplace. My goal in designing and creating each new carving is to make it as different as possible from the piece that preceded it and turn out something that I would be proud to display in my own home.
