65 Times People Took Petty Revenge On Someone And It Warmed Their Evil Little Hearts

There is nothing quite like spite to get even a mild-mannered person plotting vengeance. Ideally, none of us have to go through life feeling the need for that, but it can still be pretty entertaining to read what others have gotten up to.

So we’ve gathered people’s tales of revenge, ranging from breathtakingly petty to wonderfully inventive. Get comfortable as you settle in, prepare to take notes if you happen to have a nemesis, upvote your favorites and be sure to share your own thoughts and stories in the comments section down below.

Sprayed a small amount of dilute Ivy water (submerge poison ivy in water for a few days) in cheating ex’s underwear drawer. Worked like a charm… She freaked out thinking she caught some sort of STD and lashed out violently at the guy she was cheating with for having given her an STD.

I knew I was pushed out of my role in the next layoffs, and to add insult to injury, they hired a new person and made him sit next to me so I could train him and answer his questions. I took a medical leave (and was let go on that leave), but I was happy I didn’t train him. Now, the whole department is struggling, as most of them are new or incompetent.

Was a teacher in a 9th grade class. My students pranked me like a master. I bowed to their greatness. Looked out at the class that I’d get each and every one of them. I never brought it up again. They were on the edges of their seats whenever they saw me. For four years this went on. On the day of their graduation they asked me why I didn’t prank them. My response was I pulled the greatest prank I could think of. You spent fours looking for me to get you. Four years looking over your shoulders. Best prank ever. They agreed. Best innocent revenge story out there.

I was a cart wrangler for Walmart back in the day. A lady left her cart next to her car as I was walking by with a full load of carts to return (with a strap, we didn’t have the motorized things most places have nowadays). I left my row of 40-or-so carts behind her car, slowly walked over to her abandoned cart, added it to my row, and stood behind her car with all of them so she couldn’t back out. I stood there about as long as I figured it would have taken her to simply return the cart properly, all the while she’s watching me in her rear view mirror. She honked at me once, so I made her wait some extra time.

When I was 15 years old I heard my boyfriend was hanging out with a new girl. He stopped calling me and hanging out. So I called in the radio station (back when it was cool) and told them the story and the name of the girl. They told it over the air and played Creep by Radiohead (I requested it)
He was not happy. But I got a little joy.

I bought a cheap security camera. Well, actually it was a dummy camera that looked real but it just had a blinking light powered by a AA battery. My [jerk] neighbor piled pillows in his window for 2 years because he thought I was spying on him.
I got 2 years worth of chuckles for 10 bucks.

Found out that (now ex) bf was cheating, reached out to the girl then plotted to meet up with her the next afternoon, I had him go with me “appointment” and then sent him into a convenience store. When he came back out she was in the car with me and we drove off and left him there. His wallet and phone were in my car. Still one of the most satisfying moments.

Not me but I knew someone that had an ongoing feud with this other guy for a long time. One day he had an idea. He got a red potato about the size of an tail pipe. Took a broom handle and stuffs it into the tailpipes about 2 feet up it. The other guy tried figuring it out but it never started again. Even mechanics failed. It was a really nice car but what good is it if it don’t run. So put it up for sale for really cheap. My friend bought it and removed the potato and was driving it the next day. The other guy was pissed.

Several years ago I had a neighbor who would now be described as a Karen. She didn’t like me making knives, swords, and axes among many other things in my shop. She repeatedly would tell other neighbors that one of these days a kid is going to get a hold of one of the swords in my shop and hack somebody’s head off. She realized that none of them cared about what she had told them and most of them just told her to mind her own business. She started calling code enforcement on anything that she could find wrong with my yard. She would literally measure my grass with a ruler to see if I was more than 3 inches tall she would take photographs of any plant that she decided was [illegal] and she would call the police regularly complaining about noise. Mind you I didn’t make all that much noise my Grindr was indoors and I primarily use a hydraulic press for forging.

My revenge, she was out of town on vacation for a full two months every year. The day after she left I went over to her place and planted several hundred bamboo shoots in her well-manicured garden. I also gave her around 20 Similac Vines starting them along her fences. Lastly I scattered wildflower seeds all over her nicely manicured lawn. 2 months later she came home to her wonderful Bamboo Garden now well-established. She was the type of person who had her shrubs trimmed into perfect squares and balls she had at one time owned a perfectly manicured front yard that she had been very proud of and very very forceful about telling everybody how they were lesser because they didn’t maintain their property the way she did. She nearly went insane trying to get rid of the bamboo and the wildflowers caused her to tear up her entire front yard and completely re-sodded.

My neighbor had a habit of leaving her apartment while only having hit snooze on her alarm clock (the old school eeee eeeee eeee kind). So it would go off 5 minutes later and not stop for a literal hour. So one day I called the police and said I thought she might be in there hurt since she wasn’t answering the door (I knew she wasn’t home). So they sent the fire department to check on her and when no one answered they busted through her front door to get in.

So I told her to wait on hold, went and made a coffee, chatted to a colleague then returns to my phone about 5-10 mins later and said, “I’m back. I know what I’m talking about, but you don’t want to listen so have a great day.” Then hung up the phone.

A teacher who’d been cruel to me in sixth grade was an aspiring performer. I was civil in later years but I could never forgive him humiliating me as a kid. So I saw him at a mall when I was 20 (he was involved in the community theater in my city, so we ended up running into each other a lot) & asked what he was up to I learned he was waiting to hear from a (paying) show he’d auditioned for. I got to tell him with a smile I’d been cast in the show & was sure they’d sent out all the notices.

Not me, but I helped my daughter get revenge on her old boss. College student who worked for a bougie events company as the lead server. Boss didn’t pay her in November, said “things were tight”. (yes, mom told her this was not right and to quit, but she’s 21 and needs to learn her own lessons). Come January, boss still hasn’t paid daughter and told her the company is closing down. Says he will pay her the $4400 he owes her from his own money. Daughter follows up. No reply. I get involved.

I send her the link for dept of labor and help her walk through all the steps and submit her evidence of non payment. Boss gets letter from CDLE notifying him he’s required to pay. No response.

She just got a copy of a Judgement letter in the mail that her boss is named in and who now owes her $18,000+ due to non payment/fees.

His wages are going to be garnished and her last year of college is going to be paid for from it.

Should’ve just paid the $4,000 buddy. [Messed] around and find out!!

Worked w/ an Advisor for a few years who wasn’t a nice person. Owned his own firm, great at what he did, just a horrible man. Fast forward a few years- a client I had a great relationship with recalled that I previously worked at that firm- guy was trying to get into their country club & their private elite business only breakfast club as well. He asked my personal opinion of the guy.😬Needless to say he didn’t get in & I heard through the grapevine he was really upset about not making it.

My manager told me that we were allowed a 10% discrepancy on the stock take once. A month later,I surpassed my 6 month target by 21% which meant that I was gonna get a 20% bonus based on my 6 months salary. She denied it because she wasn’t expecting me to do that much. I made sure we had a 9% stock discrepancy at the following stock count. And made my bonus twice.

Just before a trip to Hawaii with my BFs fam and the ex GF invited by his sister, the ex sent him a card detailing how happy she was to be with him again on vacation and how she still loved him and couldn’t wait to be together again. I was wrongly accused of stealing in my junior high by the teacher, and i went through bullying and being ostracized because of that. So I planned and worked through some contacts after graduation for the next six years to compile and expose everything wrong that teacher did in his career and sent it straight to the administrator, destroying the teacher’s entire career in the process. I love watching the downfall of a bully.

I was a very small for my age 12 year old girl on swim team. This boy wouldn’t stop standing way to close too me at swim team practice and talking like right in my ear while coaches gave directions. Looking back I’m pretty sure he was a year or two older than me and since I didn’t understand most of what he said to me and he was literally right on my back he was probably harassing me but I didn’t have the knowledge to know it. I kept getting in trouble for talking when I literally just would turn and say shut up to him or ask him to move. This kid was pudgy ah and like a foot and a half taller than me so no way I could push him off me. He also dived too soon after me and would swim right on my tail. So I delayed pushing off the wall just right so I could slam my foot into the spot I’d seen my cousins hit each other in that made them drop. He finally switched lanes and stayed away from me. I now know I kicked him in the nuts.

My area manager at the firm I was working for was giving me a really hard time, to the point of treating every one of my colleagues including the poor interns like [trash], to the point that more than once some of us were considering seriously to quit. So I schemed to go above and beyond on my efforts to make her look bad at every possible opportunity to more senior staff and the partners(which were pretty cool most of the time) after 4 months she was at her breaking point, wasn’t performing and would face constant friction with everyone else, over a few weeks she had some breakdowns and was eventually fired, because she was seen as nut job and unstable to work properly.

Had some deep feeling of satisfaction of seeing her face leaving the office crying.

6th grade, bully and his buddies beat me up in gym class. Of course it was ruthless and it was in front of a bunch of girls, so it felt even worse. I took math class with the bully and one day before math we both were the only two there. He came up to me and tried to punch me in the arm just like it was cool for him to do to people, I timed it just right and caught his big fist and pulled his arm behind his back. I must of cranked on it so hard because he cried like a baby. But not before I told him that if he didn’t stop hitting me I was gonna rip his arm off next time. It worked and he never [messed] around with me again.. of course no witnesses, but either way that day I felt great.

When I was living in China, I had the unfortunate privilege of working with an Agent, anyone who has been in this place knows that agents are parasites. Anyways, Before I left China, I knew he wasn’t declaring his taxes on me correctly. I got in contact with the Tax office, visited the office got an officer’s email, Wechat, and phone number (he did speak good English), anyways, a few hours before my flight was to leave, I share with him my Agent’s conversation where he openly told me that he has been under-reporting my taxes for like 2 years and gave him his Wechat (instant messenger app) and his phone number. Someone set themself on fire all due to something I had tried for years to warn the person about. I tried to teach this person some important complicated processes and this person flat out refused time after time I offered.

The person told me they didn’t need to know how to do it ad-hoc. They said there was always a script or docs. I told them a time would come when things would be **REALLY** bad and when things are breaking all over there will be no script to follow and you will be forced to do it ad-hoc as the situation demanded.

I warned my management that I had tried but this person refused to learn so I washed my hands of the matter. And after a few years, a huge event happened, funny enough the person I had warned was running things. Since things were so bad things had to be addressed as they happened. In the middle of the worst one of the biggest people in the company was on the call and helping call the shots. At a point they asked that person to do an action, but the person didn’t respond. After being pushed by management the person had to admit they didn’t know how to do what needed to be done since they could not find the documents they needed.

That senior person on the open call said to that person – “Do you mean to tell me during this event you do not know how to do one of your most critical role?”.

Someone acussed me of graffiti the bathroom in second grade and had videos of me walking into the bathroom and getting in a bathroom stall. btw the kid was a boy and I hadn’t realized I was trans so I was in the girls bathroom. no teachers questioned why he had videos of me in the bathroom. a few years later I found his email, address, and phone number and signed them up for the scientology church. I worked with a woman who would always butt in when anyone gave presentations “I just want to say….” then talk nonsense just to be heard.

I started telling people to make a point to schedule Q&As at the end of anything, slowly every time she interrupted someone the replies would be “sorry you can have some time to speak during the Q&A at the end, unless you think this is vital?”

During her next quarterly review she received feedback that she needs to stop disrupting meetings, watching this slowly unfold over months was delicious.

Ooh ooh ooh! I went to a luncheon for my friend’s 40 birthday. It was at the home of her friend who is a renowned cook and baker. Also not nice and very weird. The food and presentation were divine. The best dish was a lobster corn pudding. I’d never had anything like it. I asked the hostess for the recipe and she said “No”. Just like that. I was shocked! Later at the party I was speaking w another friend who also loved that dish (we’re both also cooks). She was going to ask for the recipe but I warned her. She said she’d wait til the next day and email the hostess. Welp! She also got turned down.

Fast forward about 15 years and I was on a cooking spree over winter break, posting many of the dishes on Facebook. One of them was a baked pasta with a homemade Bolognese. It was oozing cheese and was perfect for a cold winter evening.

It received many comments, one from the hostess of that long ago luncheon. She asked for the recipe. My answer:

I’ll trade you for the lobster corn pudding.
I never heard from her again.

In college, a girl was running her mouth with vicious lies about me. Literally would see her stop people on their way to class to cry and spew lies. This one girl in my art class in middle school copied my artwork at the start of the year. It wasn’t like, she loosely used my idea, it was the exact same thing, and since it was charcoal it was identical. She didn’t even change the quote I wrote in the middle. I didn’t submit the one that she copied (she was my desk partner btw) so no one else knew but her and our art teacher who asked if she was inspired by anything since he knew she copied me. She said no, of course. She continues to avoid me, I think she was embarrassed about it. But after multiple conversations I (forced) had with her, giving her the chance to apologize, she didn’t. Anyways, the next thing you know, in our pottery unit, her glaze (they’re identical before being fired) wasn’t the color she had picked out, and instead was the really ugly brown nobody wanted to use. So weird…
