The artist Julio Anaya Cabanding from Malaga, Spain, replicates the most famous paintings of all time in public places and gives the impression that they are framed. For his beautiful paintings, he chooses unusual surroundings such as walls decorated with street art graffiti, facades of dilapidated, abandoned buildings, or stone slabs by the sea.
He loves to create a conflict and is fascinated by the contract between classical art and the surrounding urban decay that you could never relate to. In this way, the artist emancipates himself from the cold exhibition halls of museums.
“These places are inhospitable, decadent, and inadequate to receive such beautiful art,” the artist told Bored Panda.
He begins each of his unique artworks by sketching his replica in aerosol and then meticulously completes the details with acrylic paint. His works are always done in peripheral, or difficult to reach abandoned places. His works of art take the viewer to a new dimension, leaving them with a breathtaking copy of the original work.
