I’m impressed with the guy’s ability and the stamina he has to keep doing this , but otherwise I’m really questioning why this is a valued skill. It’s something to watch that much is very true and it’s an accomplishment that a lot of people probably couldn’t accomplish but in a real world setting it doesn’t seem to amount to much. Maybe that’s just the cynic in me, but then again I’m also wondering how this guy didn’t scorch his own legs in the process of doing these flips. I’m also wondering what he was drinking in order to create those fireballs as he was twisting about.
Doing a backflip isn’t as easy as it looks no matter what anyone tells you. Doing a backlip and twisting your body around is even harder since it requires a limber body and an almost casual disregard for the fact that gravity is seeking to pull you back down to the ground in a hurry. But having the wherewithal to spit liquid onto a mini-torch that’s resting in your hand and not burning yourself after so many repetitions is flat out amazing. How he kept anything from going wrong is more of a testament to how long he had to practice and how many times he might have actually singed himself in the process.
The probability of escaping this many backflips without any injury at all is very low in favor of the person performing the act, but he pulls off one flip after another as though he wakes up and does nothing but this act each and every day. To get into the Guinness Book of World Records though you have to do something utterly amazing and out of the ordinary and I think this counts. The fact that someone had already done it though is even more amazing since it affirms that people have been doing crazy stunts for a very long time.
Once again I don’t see the practical side of this skill unless it’s used as some crazy self-defense mechanism or a circus act. Plus, in order to make that fireball someone would either have to be imbibing lighter fluid or alcohol that had enough potency to actually be flammable. That means that it would have to be over 40 proof at least and possible of intoxicating a person very easily. However the flipper would be spitting the majority of it at the torch in their hand and would thereby not suffer any ill effects unless they were taking swigs in between.
The Guinness Book of World Records is no joke when it comes time to break or make a record. They want representatives out there to witness the attempt and they want to see someone actually break records. It’s amazing however how many things there are out there that warrant attention of this kind of magnitude. It’s inspiring in a way really that people will support others in these endeavors, but it can also be something of a head-scratching moment as well.
