2021 has been a massive year for Nathaniel Ashton’s career. He went from being a relatively unknown actor to watching his fan base grow thanks to his role in the Freeform series, Cruel Summer In the show, Nathaniel plays a gay high school student who is struggling with his sexuality amid the backdrop of a smalltown mystery. While Nathaniel’s character may not be the star of the show, he still plays an important role in the overarching story. Not only is Nathaniel enjoying the success of Cruel Summer, but he also has a couple of projects in the works that are sure to keep the momentum going. 1. He’s From Texas
Since Nathaniel is still new to the industry, there isn’t much information out there about him. One thing we do know, though, is that he appears to be from the Dallas area and it looks like he is still based on the area although he has been spending a lot of time on the west coast.
2. He’s A Musician
At this point, most people know Nathaniel for what he’s done as an actor, but many people don’t realize that he’s also a talented musician. Nathaniel likes to sing and play the guitar. He hasn’t released any music of his own and there’s no information to suggest that he plans to.
3. He Loves Spending Time Outdoors
Working in the entertainment industry can be hectic, and everyone needs a break from time to time. When Nathaniel is looking for some peace and quiet, he likes to head outdoors. He loves to enjoy the beauty of nature and its become the perfect place for him to relax and recharge.
4. He’s In A Relationship
Enjoying special moments in life is even better when you have someone to do it with. Nathaniel has been fortunate to find that special someone. He is in a relationship with a woman named Rebecca Guerrero who is also an actress. Most notably, she was in the TV series Titans: Homecoming.
5. He Likes To Swim
The arts aren’t the only place where Nathaniel’s talents lie. He is also a talented athlete. Specifically, Nathaniel has been swimming for years and from what we can tell he used to swim competitively. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to track down the specifics of his swimming career.
6. He Likes To Read
Storytelling is the cornerstone of acting, so it’s not much of a surprise that Nathaniel would enjoy reading. Not only do books give him the chance to get lost in a good story, but they also allow him to access new ideas. Occasionally, he’ll share what he’s reading on social media.
7. He Listened To Lots Of 90s Music To Prepare For Cruel Summer
We don’t know exactly how old Nathaniel is, but chances are he wasn’t very old during the 90s which is when Cruel Summer was set. Needless to say, he had to do a good deal of research in order to get into character. During an interview with Young Entertainment, Nathaniel said, “For me a big part of getting into the 90’s feel was the music. I listened to a lot of Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, Nirvana, Oasis, Radiohead, etc. I felt like I was back listening to my CD player at the skating rink all over again. I thought it was really cool that there was a time when music like that was what primarily played on the radio.”
8. He Likes To Take Pictures
Nathaniel probably doesn’t think of himself as a photographer, but his Instagram profile makes it clear that he loves taking pictures. When he’s outdoors exploring nature, he loves to snap beautiful shots. It’s clear that he has a natural talent for knowing just when to snap the perfect moment.
9. He Loves A Good Adventure
Even though Nathan hasn’t shared much about his life outside of acting, based on his Instagram we can tell that he’s a very adventurous person. He enjoys doing things like going hiking and in 2016 he even went indoor skydiving. In an Instagram post about the experience, he shared that he may want to try the real thing someday.
10. He Loves Connecting With Fans
Nathaniel is thankful for all of the people who have shown him love and support so far in his journey and he loves to interact with them as much as possible. It’s fairly common to see Nathaniel responding to people who leave comments on his Instagram posts and they always seem to love to hear from him.
