I’ve made it abundantly clear that I’m not a huge hockey fan but it doesn’t take a hockey fan to appreciate this incredible barrage of tweets by none other than the Nashville Predators mascot. Here’s the quick and easy backstory as to why these tweets went out.
No one expected the Nashville Predators to beat the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks. While everyone knew these guys would put up a tough fight, pretty much no one expects them to best the Blackhawks in the NHL playoffs. The Blackhawks uncharacteristically fell apart, and the Predators were underestimated – completing the unbelievable sweep of the series with a 4-1 win Thursday night. But the story doesn’t end there.
Enter Nashville’s mascot, Gnash, whose celebration extended to viciously trolling ESPN’s experts for exclusively picking the Blackhawks to take the series in no fewer than five games. But Gnash also made sure to send out a few more choice tweets that were incredible. He hilariously went after Chicago’s mascot, Tommy Hawk, the NHL overall and Alyssa Milano.
