MLB Players Stop, Drop, and Roll when a Swarm of Bees Attack the Field

Bees are an intimidating insect.  Sure they’re tiny but even the biggest and burliest of men will freak out if one is in their path.   And forget it if you’re allergic.  Then it’s all hell breaking loose.  I freak out whenever I see a spider and I definitely run for the hills when I hear those yellow jackets buzzing.   But if there’s one thing you don’t see often, it’s an entire group of people freaking out from bees.  You know, like an entire baseball team?  But that’s exactly what happened in the Cactus league with the Padres and Rockies organizations.

Here’s something you most certainly do not see every day.    A swarm of bees stormed the field and the players reacted rationally. They all hit the deck hoping that stop, drop and roll would work as well in the instance of a bee attack as when there’s a fire in the building.   I personally would have run into the stands or into the tunnel but I suppose these guys all reacted how they felt they should.

I mean seriously, when the hell does this EVER happen in a baseball game?  If Mel Allen were announcing he would have said, “how about that?”
