Nancy Pelosi Will Guest Judge on “RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars”

‘RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars’ is an exciting musical television competition that involves drag queens taking part in a series of challenges. Each week, the competition culminates with the two top contestants entering a lip-syncing battle to win the power to send home one of their rivals. There is a panel of judges that often includes a guest judge. It has recently been revealed that one of the guest judges on the new season will be house minority leader, Nancy Pelosi.

In its press release, VH1 has said that the competition will be particularly fierce this season. The contestants are not just trying to impress the judges, they are also aiming to impress their opponents. To do this, they will need to work hard. VH1 have also released information about some of the other celebrities who are acting as guest judges this year. These include Kristin Chenoweth, Tituss Burgess, and Vanessa Hudgens. These all seem sensible choices considering they all have a career in the entertainment industry. On the other hand, the decision to have Nancy Pelosi as a guest judge seems a little strange.

Although CNN requested a comment from Pelosi’s office regarding her acting as a guest judge, they did not initially respond. However, Pelosi herself has tweeted about the show wishing all the drag queens taking part. She also used the famous RuPaul catchphrase ‘All I can say is, you betta werk!’ The decision to have Pelosi as a guest judge was explained further by Randy Barbato, the executive producer of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars’ and the co-founder of the ‘World of Wonder’ production company. He said that Nancy Pelosi is a good fit for the themes of the show.

According to Barbato, one of the missions of the show is to teach children that they should honor those who fight on their behalf. As a servant of the nation, Nancy Pelosi is an ideal candidate to act as a guest judge.

It was the producers of the show that first reached out to Pelosi’s team and Barbato says that they were more than happy to help out. Other than this, Barbato was not willing to provide any more information about Pelosi’s appearance on the series as he did not want to spoil it for viewers. The one comment he did make was that she was an absolute delight to have on the series and that the whole crew and cast were touched by her visit.

‘RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars’ is about to enter its third season. RuPaul is, of course, the senior judge for this competition. He will be joined as a main judge by Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, and Ross Matthews. In season two of the show, Todrick Hall was a main judge, but he will be returning only as a guest judge for season three. Fans of this competition do not have long to wait before the new season starts and they can see the judges and those vying for a place in the Drag Race Hal of Fame for the first time. Season three premieres on January 25, 2018.
