Speechless Season 2 Episode 5 Review: “N-I-Nightmares on D-I-DiMeo S-Street”

On this Week’s Episode of Speechless Ray, Dylan, JJ, and Kenneth all have hallucinations after eating old Halloween candy.

This episode opens with Kenneth trying to decide which Michael Jackson he’s going to be for Halloween. Ray, Dylan, and JJ tell him they will help him decide. While he is busy trying on outfits they try to find out where the Halloween candy is hidden. They find a bag of candy but when Maya and Jimmy come from the store they tell them they just bought candy and what they found is old.

Eating the old candy causes JJ to hallucinate. This causes him to imagine he is doing crazy things to people while he is possessed, like throwing his therapist through a window and murdering his English teacher. In his hallucination, Maya convinces the evil spirit to leave and he returns to normal. In reality, JJ wakes up and is feeling better.

Dylan eats the same old candy that JJ ate and becomes sick. When she sits down to watch Freaky Friday with Maya she hallucinates that she switches bodies with Ray. When Ray experiences how great Dylan’s life is he does not want to switch back. In her hallucination Dylan get’s taken away in Ray’s body because everyone thinks he is crazy. In reality, Dylan wakes up from her hallucination.

Ray hallucinates that the DiMeo’s finally make it to the escape room they have been trying to get to all night. When they get there they find out that it has been custom designed for them by Kenneth to teach them lessons. After getting poisoned by gas in his hallucination, Ray wakes up in reality. At the end of the episode Kenneth hallucinates that Jimmy and Maya want him to kiss them but in reality, he wakes up in his hot tub.

Overall I thought this episode was weird and felt disjointed, but I loved Kenneth and his Michael Jackson costumes
