The Top Five Keith Coogan Movie Roles of His Career

Keith Eric Mitchell changed his name to Keith Coogan shortly after the passing of his grandfather, Jackie Coogan, the actor that played the beloved Uncle Fester in the 1960’s series The Addams Family. He’s had a long run as a child star and has been featured in an impressive list of shows and ads since the time he was two years old. He didn’t really get into movies until he got a little older and once he did his career started to plateau a little bit. as a child actor he was a hot commodity but the older he got it seemed like his fame started to wane just a bit.

Here are some of his best roles.

5. The Fox and the Hound-Young Todd

This is one of the most classic friendship movies of all time and unfortunately one of the saddest. Todd and Copper are best friends as pups, but as they grow older the reality begins to set in that Copper, a hound that’s trained to hunt, and Todd, a fox that belongs in the wild, can never truly be friends. It’s a tearjerker to be certain, but it’s still a classic.

4. Cousins-Mitch

It seems every time you get Ted Danson in a drama it’s bound to turn into a love story that has a lot of very interesting twists that you might not have seen coming. Coogan has a rather mild role in this film but he does get to add to it since he has the chance to interact with a few different noted celebrities in a very serious way. That deserves some recognition.

3. Toy Soldiers-Jonathan Bradberry

When a high-ranking member of drug cartel seeks to get his father released from prison he turns to the only thing he thinks will bring him what he wants and strikes out at the families of those that control his father’s fate. This involves taking their children hostage in an upperclass prep school where the students aren’t just the type to lay down and accept someone’s authority, no matter who they are.

2. Adventures in Babysitting-Brad

Brad is the hopeless geek with the trouble-making best friend that has a crush on the girl he just can’t have. Throughout the night he, his sister, their sitter, and his friend embark on a journey the likes of which most babysitters would run away from screaming bloody murder. But thankfully this sitter is made of sterner stuff.

1. Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead-Kenny

Kenny’s that kid that just refuses to try because no one expects anything of him. He floats through life doing pretty much whatever he wants and looking to do as little as possible when it comes to his own personal responsibilities. I mean come on, his idea of doing the dishes is tossing them in the air like skeet and blasting them apart. Granted it might be fun for a little while but when you need something to eat and have to use your hands it can be pretty inconvenient.

Keith Coogan is still an active actor, but he’s been extremely low-key as of late.
