Halloween Reboot to Bring Back Original Michael Myers Actor

Halloween Reboot to Bring Back Original Michael Myers Actor

For those who haven’t heard the news, the Halloween franchise is being rebooted. However, it is interesting to note that the next installment in the long-running horror franchise won’t be following in the footsteps of the numerous sequels that have been released since the initial movie, which makes sense considering that there have been nine of them so far. Instead, the upcoming Halloween movie will be a follow-up to the first Halloween movie, which is why there are a lot of familiar names becoming involved with said project.

What Is Happening with the Halloween Reboot?

One of the latest examples is Nick Castle, who will be making a return as Michael Myers in the upcoming Halloween movie. For those who are unfamiliar with his name, Castle was the one who played Michael Myers when he was still wearing a mask, whereas the child Michael Myers was played by Will Sandin and the unmasked Michael Myers was played by Tony Moran. Since the upcoming Halloween movie is supposed to be set four decades after the first Halloween movie, this seems like a casting that makes perfect sense.

Speaking of which, those who are fond of the first Halloween movie should know that Jamie Lee Curtis will be returning to the Halloween franchise to reprise her role as Laurie Strode. As a result, it should come as no surprise to learn that the upcoming Halloween movie has promised to feature the last confrontation between Curtis’s character and her serial killer brother, though it remains to be seen whether this will prove to be true in either an in-setting sense, an out of setting sense, or both.

Finally, it is interesting to note that John Carpenter will be making a return to the Halloween franchise as well. However, he won’t be serving as the director for the upcoming Halloween movie. Instead, he will be serving as an executive producer as well as a creative consultant for whoever ends up with that particular role. Besides this, it is interesting to note that Carpenter will be working on the soundtrack for the upcoming Halloween movie as well, though it is unknown at this point in time what that work will consist of. Carpenter has said that he could end up either writing a new score, making changes to the old score, or using a combination of old and new depending on what the eventual director thinks will work best.

What Else Do We Know About the Halloween Reboot?

There is a fair amount of other information that is known about the upcoming Halloween movie at this point in time. For example, it is known that Judy Greer has been cast in the role of Laurie Strode’s daughter, so it will be interesting to see how said character will feature in the resulting movie. Likewise, Christopher Nelson will be involved with the project as a make-up artist, which should come as welcoming news considering that he has won an Oscar for his work in the past. Summed up, those who are interested in the upcoming Halloween movie should not hesitate to look up more information, though it should be mentioned that more news is bound to come out as time passes.
