Movie Reboot Ideas That Could Work: “Willow”

One of my favorite moves from my 80s childhood was definitely Willow.  It was one of the first movies I had ever seen of its kind and to this day remains a classic.   Don’t forget this is a Lucasfilm movie folks.  But what I loved about it is not only the time period but the comedic brilliance of Val Kilmer and Warwick Davis in this movie.  Remember that this movie was made in 1988, well before all the movies you see representing the same time period.

I’m talking about the rise of movies and TV shows depicting barbaric times with knights, queens, kinds, swords, etc etc.   I honestly believe it if weren’t for Willow you wouldn’t see movies like Braveheart, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Robin Hood, or TV shows like Game of Thrones, all of their upcoming spinoffs, as well as any other show during said time period.

Now that it’s nearly 30 years later and with today’s movie technology, I think given the right casting and directing this could be brilliant.
