As we have seen all throughout the entertainment industry in recent months, celebrity after celebrity has come out in various different ways, revealing histories of sexual abuse and misconduct that they have either experienced or have dished out themselves. This, of course, has struck in the hearts of many, inspiring the #MeToo movement, and helping victims everywhere to come forward and feel more at ease with their unfortunate experience. In light of all the actors who have been accused of these heinous incidents, there have also been those who are having their histories resurface as well, including that of Michael Fassbender. The Initial Accusations
In case you have forgotten, Michael Fassbender has actually been keeping this history of abuse on the down low since being accused of domestic violence by his former girlfriend, Sunawin “Leasi” Andrews, back in 2009. At the time, Andrews had filed for a restraining order to keep Fassbender away from her and her two children after the abuse. He was also ordered to pay for her medical bills that she obtained from the abuse, which ended up totaling to about $24,000 and spanned from several different incidents at the time. Fassbender has never made any public statements regarding any of the abuse allegations that surfaced during that time, or since.
His Career On The Rise?
Although now, we are seeing many actors and other famous figures losing their careers and reputations due to the sexual misconduct allegations that are on the rise and making their way to the public, it seems as though Michael Fassbender’s career has only gotten bigger and more successful since the allegations first made their way to the public back in 2009. Since those many years back, Fassbender has starred in a slew of successful films, including that of “Inglorious Basterds”, “12 Years of Slave”, “Alien”, and in part of the “X Men” franchise. He has also become an Oscar nominee on a couple of occasions, seeming as though the misconduct allegations have not phased his career whatsoever.
Although there has not been much news regarding Michael Fassbender and the allegations as of yet, only time will tell what the resurfaced abuse allegations may do to his career.
