Marin Ireland has been described as one of the great drama queens of the stage, which is either high praise or something else I won’t go into. Let’s just say that she’s good at what she does and gets a reaction from many people that’s based upon their opinion of her performance, which is obviously quite astute since she’s been around for a while now and has been deemed good enough to win a couple of awards in her time. She’s also been deemed talented enough to perform in a number of different projects that have been viewed by many audiences as some of the best shows and movies that have come along in a while. It’s true that some of them don’t seem to get as much attention as they deserve, but her career at this time is pretty solid and she’s been doing what she does best to keep it that way.
Here are a few things you might not have known about her.
10. She’s not a big fan of gory horror movies.
Some folks just can’t handle the gore, guts, and crimson splashes that accompany some movies. Even starring in one seems like something that Marin wouldn’t really consider since she honestly doesn’t care for the whole mess that comes from such a spectacle. Some people like it, while others tend to avoid it.
9. She’s 39 years old.
At this point she’s not old but she’s not a spring chicken either as the saying goes. The chances are good that she’s got a lot of good years left in her and that her career will only continue onward, perhaps even hitting new highs as the years move forward.
8. She’s been a stage actor.
This seems to be where she’s managed to shine for a while and gain the most acclaim. Some might wonder why people that shine in one area don’t stay there and continue to try their hand at other venues, but the answer is pretty simple. In show business one-trick actors don’t necessarily last as long, and diversity in one’s career is a great thing to have.
7. She was nominated for a Tony award.
Being nominated is great, it keeps a person hungry to actually win and therefore more inspired to keep doing their best. It can have the reverse effect too if they nab a lot of nominations without an award, but so long as they remember the love of the craft is what’s important then most actors tend to keep going even if they don’t win one.
6. Her career started in 2000.
There must have been a serious influx of actors just getting their start in the 2000s since a lot of those that grace these lists seem to have started their career anywhere from 2000 to 2010. One thing is very clear though, they never had to deal with the uncertainty of the 80s or the attitude era in the 90s.
5. She was in Hell or High Water.
One of the most amusing parts of this film is that the bank robbers would have gotten away clean if not for the one brother that decided to get greedy. But apart from that, the brother that survived got away because the townsfolk had no love for the bank that was robbed, and wouldn’t help the law in any way, shape, or form.
4. She’s been in three of the Law & Order TV shows.
This is proof, if it was needed, that the Law & Order shows like to recycle the actors they use. It’s not a bad thing, it’s really kind of interesting to see how they use the same actor in a different capacity and a different role.
3. She’s a regular on Sneaky Pete.
When a con man gets released from prison he takes the identity of his cell mate and returns to the town that the other man has told him so much about, thinking that he can run a con on a few unsuspecting people so that he can raise enough money to save his brother from being tortured by a man that he happens to owe a great sum of money to.
2. She’s won a couple of awards.
Her acting ability has been great enough to garner a couple of awards in her career so far and that’s enough to think that she’s got a lot more left to show people and might one day wow a lot of audience members with something they haven’t seen yet.
1. She’s been an extra or supporting character in a lot of films.
Some folks make a good living and create a stable career on being the support and backup that the main actors need. There’s nothing wrong with this since it contributes to whatever project they’re on and thereby makes the project that much better.
It would be nice to see more of her as time goes on.
