Who Was Keke Jabbar?

Keke Jabbar

Keke Jabbar was born in October 1982. She was most notable for featuring on OWN’s reality TV series, Love & Marriage: Huntsville. The show began in 2019 and follows three high-powered African-American couples who come together to help the thriving city of Huntsville, Alabama continue to grow. As of the time of writing, Love & Marriage: Huntstville has ran for seven seasons, and Jabbar has been a popular and instrumental figure on the show. However, to some, she was also somewhat controversial.

Jabbar was renowned for her well-meaning nature but also her explosive temper. She was first introduced to the series as a friend of Melody Holt. She was also the cousin of LaTisha Scott, another member of the show. During her time on the show, Jabbar feuded relentlessly with Scott, with much of her screen time coming from these clashes. Their volatile relationship was captured by cameras in many tense moments. Most notably, in a scene from season 6, Jabbar and Scott engaged in an argument that ended with Jabbar throwing a drink in Scott’s face. Outside of her time on the show, Jabbar was reportedly also a writer, editor, author and professor.

How Did Keke Jabbar Die?

As of yet, Keke Jabbar’s cause of death has not been revealed. As mentioned, her family released a statement, which was read by Marcella Speaks. It read: “It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Keke. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by love. She was a mom, a sister, and a great friend full of life, love and laughter. She will be sorely missed and at this time, we are asking for respect and privacy in our moment of grief while we process this great loss. The Jabbar Family and the Scott Family.”

Speculation has already began around how Jabbar passed away. During her time on the show, she announced that she had struggled with an opioid addiction. However, she stated she was working hard to remain clean after several challenging years. She was also questioned by the show’s producer, Carlos King, after facing accusations of using hard drugs and potentially using someone else’s urine to pass a drug test for the show. She responded: “I’ve never taken anything, heroin, cocaine, crack. I’ve never taken anything like that.” So, as of yet, this is not believed to be linked to her death.
