So now we know what the Legends of Tomorrow do in their spare time. They film disco music videos, and all but one of them look like they’re having fun doing it. Why does it always seem like the women are having so much more fun in these things than the men? The men usually seem stiff or just way too loose as though they’re trying too hard. It could be they’re staying in character but quite honestly a couple of them just look like they’re going through the motions and not much else. Ah well, it’s their leisure time so however they spend it is up to them.
That’s one thing that a lot of people don’t seem to wonder about a lot, and if they do then they don’t give as much thought as it might deserve. What do heroes do in their spare time? You have to think that they’re not always out on the go saving lives and doing good deeds, as that would get kind of boring and even worse, make the superhero gig into a job. At that point they might as well punch a time clock and go home when their shift is over at the end of the day or the particular need that they’re there to fill. Just picture a superhero saving someone’s life and then saying “Okay, I’ve got to clock out now.” The person being saved might not fully understand as the hero walks or flies off, but it would make them wonder for certain.
Superheroes need leisure time too after all, and it stands to reason that they’d want to do something fun or at least something that would keep them active while they’re doing it. After all just laying around like a couch potato doesn’t sound like something a superhero would do, but then again the habits of heroes have been able to surprise people before. Some of them have been seen to hop from bar to bar during their time off, others simply hang around a mansion and do whatever comes natural, and others continually train. The Legends have decided that shooting a disco video was their thing apparently. When heroes have free time there’s not a lot that stops them from showing what they really like to do, but disco is definitely not something a lot of people would guess was going to be their thing.
It’s not the worst hobby in the world though. Disco dancing is at least active and gets a person up and moving. You would think heroes would be content to sit and rest for a moment but then again you might think that they need to stay moving so that they feel like they’re doing something worthwhile. Maybe it’s the antiheroes that don’t mind just plunking their butt on the couch to wait until the next time people need something. Of course an antihero wouldn’t really get up and help others unless there was something they needed as well, in theory.
