Four nights of superhero awesomeness. Can’t get any better than that. Tonight’s episode of Legends of Tomorrow concludes this four series crossover. Granted, Supergirl was a tad on the dull side before things started to pick up on The Flash and Arrow. Our team of heroes save the world from a possible alien invasion, and it turns out that the Dominators are mad at Barry. Guess Cisco’s not the only one holding a grudge. Good thing Oliver was able to convince Barry not to turn himself in to the Dominators.
Speaking of Cisco, he got a taste of his own medicine in a way. When he, Felicity, Nate, Amaya and Mick saved a Dominator from 1951, he inadvertently changed the timeline, much like what Barry did with Flashpoint. I thought that he would never be able to forgive Barry for Dante’s death until that moment. Now you know how Barry felt when he messed up time, hmm, Cisco?
I loved the scene where Felicity and Cisco geeked out on the Waverider. It was like watching two kids going to Disneyland for the first time. Not that I would know, I’ve never actually been to Disneyland. Sad childhood memories aside, I was rather amused when Felicity started talking in gibberish and throwing up after travelling back to 1951. That and when Nate used a quote from Princess Bride against Cisco which got a rouse out of him. Excellent work, show.
The part where Felicity gets all Team Supergirl towards the end of the episode was great. Barry is the one placing the nano-weapons on the Dominators and Felicity is all “This looks like a job for Supergirl!”. At least Barry didn’t feel too insulted when Felicity tried to make up for her little faux pas. Oh, Felicity, you amuse me greatly.
It also seems that Oliver and Professor Stein have something in common in this episode. The former wanted to keep Kara/Supergirl at arms’ length so that he can get some normalcy back. The latter intends to fix the aberration (his daughter Lily) given that the professor changed his past a little. He had told his younger self to take care of their wife, Clarissa. Didn’t expect him to take your advice all the way to Pound Town (as Jefferson so aptly phrased it), now did you, Professor Stein?
In the end, the Dominators scrammed, and the world is safe thanks to Team Flarrowgends and Supergirl (I can’t work her name into the mixed team name). Firestorm liquefied the bomb that the aliens were planning to use to take out every meta-human on Earth. Did not know that he has the strength. Then again, anything can happen as long as you got the magic of television.
Ray’s comment about Kara looking like his cousin near the end of the hour made me laugh. Yes, we all know you played Superman on the silver screen, Brandon Routh, but on this show, you are not the Man of Steel, you’re The Atom!
