Legends of Tomorrow: Ava Is A Robot Clone. Amaya Gets Totem Back.

Legends of Tomorrow

We all remember that Will Smith movie, I, Robot, right? Well, in this week’s episode of Legends of Tomorrow, Director Sharpe gets the same treatment. That, and a bit of Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. Amaya also gets her totem back but at a cost.

My jaw dropped when I learned that Director Sharpe is one of many clones. They are AVAs or Automated Variant Automation. It showed not only the truth about the Time Bureau director but also the file Rip Hunter deleted. The scene where Sara, Ray and Gary visited Director Sharpe’s parents in Fresno seemed off. I had a gut feeling that the parents were fake. All the stories they told sounded too good to be true. Kudos to Sara for figuring it out though she didn’t have to pull out the knife. Then again, she did apologize for it after.

Back on the Waverider, Amaya is in charge while Sara takes some time to clear her head. She tasks Zari to train Mick how to control his Fire Totem better. Things didn’t go so well as the fire-loving Legend wants to do things his way. I cringed when he called Zari a bitch as I know that she will make him pay for calling her such. Never call Zari a bitch, Mick. Or anyone else for that matter. Karma always gets you in the end!

Meanwhile, Nate and Wally set out to get Amaya’s totem back from the Darhks. They team up with Kuasa, who, after double-crossing them, ended up bringing the emblem back to her grandmother. I guess she does value family over absolute power after all. I wish I could say the same for the Darhks as Mallus’ power flows through Nora and Damien is worried that he will never have his little girl back when it’s all said and done. It’s times like this where I feel genuine sympathy for the villains. The scene where Damien pretended to torture Nate was very highly amusing to watch. Shame Nora/Mallus caught them red-handed.

As the episode ended, Kuasa died when Nora took the Water Totem from her chest. Amaya, overcome with grief, decides to take a jump ship back to Zambesi in 1992 to save her granddaughter. Oh, Sara’s not going to be too happy about this when she finds out and Rip Hunter, you have got some explaining to do mister!

Final Thoughts:

Ray thought he was going to be put in charge while Sara’s away. Too bad it turned out to be Amaya. Sorry, Superman!

Gary ships Ava/Sara hard. That’s sweet Gary!

Director Sharpe fainting at the sight of her clones. Wow.

Since when did the Telus World of Science double as a cloning lab? Then again, it does have to do with science, so I suppose it’s fitting.

Who is Director Sharpe’s ex in Vegas? I am very curious to know.
