That didn’t take too long did it? Jimmy Kimmel nailed it at the 89th annual Academy Awards earlier this year and within months his name was called to host the 90th. It’s not a surprise given his warm reception from critics and fans of his performance this year. According to TV Guide
Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs announced on Tuesday that for the second consecutive year, Kimmel will team up with producers Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd for Hollywood’s biggest night. “Hosting the Oscars was a highlight of my career and I am grateful to Cheryl, Dawn and the Academy for asking me to return to work with two of my favorite people, Mike De Luca and Jennifer Todd,” said Kimmel. “If you think we screwed up the ending this year, wait until you see what we have planned for the 90th anniversary show!”
As long as Kimmel keeps being Kimmel he’s going to have no problem hosting the Oscars year after year. I suspect the 90th show will be something special.
The 90th Oscars will air live on Sunday, March 4, 2018 oat 7/6c on ABC.
