There’s something attractive with the darkness of Netflix’s superhero films, not only in cinematography but also in story. Since Jessica Jones started in 2015, we were introduced to an unlikely heroine–one who contrasts the few female superheroes we’ve been exposed to since the rise of superhero genre began. Jessica Jones as a show has also produced some fascinating characters that we wouldn’t mind seeing again if the show were to wrap up. There are no news of this happening just yet, as Jessica Jones is enjoying quite a fan-base and impressive viewership. However, when it does happen, here are the cast members whom we think will have the best post-Jessica Jones careers.
This was a no-brainer given that the star’s already known talents exploded even brighter in this show. We’ve seen Ritter in different roles before, always snarky and comical for the most part. However, her dramatic chops couldn’t be any more perfect in Jessica Jones, and we’ve seen taken her to be one of the most serious young actors of her generation. Ritter will go very, very far in her career, and she’s started that journey through Jones.
Rachael Taylor
Here’s another actress that was kind of just skimming through, but when she landed the role of Trish Walker, Taylor also secured the future of her career. Taylor’s been known for a few mainstream roles, such as Maggie Madsen from Transformers and Anne Morris from The Loft. However, both characters were so-so and easily forgotten. Taylor’s portrayal of Trish Walker has shown us a little bit more grit and edge that we’ve never seen from the actress before. Considering that her movie credits have increased since Jessica Jones, we think that it’ll turn into the norm once the series is over.
Eka Darville
There’s something about this actor that just strikes us. He’s got a unique look that Hollywood tends to favor, and he’s also got that spunk that almost makes us think that he can handle it. This new actor has had a few decent recurring roles in the past, but playing Malcolm Ducasse is obviously his biggest role yet. We’ve seen him in the shows, The Originals and Empire before, but it seems that Jessica Jones is fitting him a lot better. We expect more out of this actor, and we believe that shows will be lined up after Jones wraps up.
David Tennant
Tennant’s already an established actor before he even showed up in Jessica Jones. However, we believe that after the show, Tennant’s American clients will be more than pleased to offer him more action. He’s already got a few projects lined up for this year and the next, and it seems that he’ll be busy already. However, we think that after Jessica Jones, he’ll pick up a role that will trump all his other previous roles.
J.R. Ramirez
Ramirez just started his professional acting career about 9 years ago, and he may have a long way to go. But this talented actor has shown us in his short stay on Jessica Jones so far that he’s ready for a bigger challenge. His character, Oscar Arocho, is Jones’ love interest, and if anyone can keep up with her character, Arocho definitely can. This means that Ramirez can keep up as well, and we kind of like that he does. He’s got a look about him that doesn’t scream lead, but it does scream something else entirely. We’re not sure what that is yet, but we’re sure we’ll find out one day in his future projects.
