This just goes to show how much the point of “if you want to see a movie, go see it regardless of the trailer” hits home. I’ll be the first to admit that I haven’t been a huge fan of the early footage of Wonder Woman. In fact I kind of ripped apart that scene from the alley that was released a little while back. But I haven’t been shy in saying how attractive and how much potential I think Gal Gadot has.
But with all the hype and all the opinions out there, the real truth is that you’ll just never form a true opinion until you actually see the film itself. While we’ll all have to wait until June 2nd for the movie to be released, early indications are that the film is great. P.S. that certainly doesn’t mean that I or you will think it’s good. Again, that’s why trailers are effectively meaningless. I mean look at Alien: Covenant hype. It’s off the charts and the movie is getting skewered by critics. Anyway, here’s a statement on Wonder Woman so far.
Following the critical failure of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad, DC and fans will be delighted that Patty Jenkins’ film, featured on the cover of the new issue of EW, is being hailed as a “blast,” “so good,” and by a great majority, the best to date from the DC Extended Universe. Also receiving widespread praise is Wonder Woman herself, with Gadot described as “absolutely phenomenal” and “a legit movie star.”
Here are some reaction tweets
Loved WONDER WOMAN. She reminds me of Christopher Reeve's Superman: true north superhero w/ no angst or cynicism, which is needed right now.

2. Gal Godot is absolutely phenomenal as #WonderWoman. She KILLS it, just surprisingly good. A truly heroic light DCEU desperately needs.
